David Kennedy is an English actor. He was born David Mallett in 1964 in London. As a child he lived in Hornsey, North London before moving to South Devon aged 5 with his mother and stepfather. He attended King Edward VI Comprehensive School in Totnes. Aged 16, Kennedy and his family moved to Bristol and then Gloucester before he returned to London in 1990 to study acting at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. Since graduating from Webber Douglas in 1992, he has worked extensively in theatre, television and film.
Kennedy has appeared in over 50 television dramas including The Bill (1995-2003), Trial & Retribution (1997-1998), Without Motive (2000), London's Burning (2002), EastEnders (2002-2006), and William and Mary (2003-2005). He is best known for his role of Dirk Savage in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks from 2011 to 2018.
