Jake Lacy

Jake Lacy is an American actor, born on February 14, 1986, in Greenfield, Massachusetts, and raised in rural Pittsford, Vermont. After graduating from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2008, he worked as a waiter, barback and gym receptionist while auditioning in New York. His first major role came in Better with You, followed by the affable Pete "Plop" Miller in The Office. Lacy became known for approachable romantic characters in Girls, Obvious Child, Carol and High Fidelity. He overturned that image as entitled honeymooner Shane Patton in The White Lotus, earning an Emmy nomination, then played manipulative child abductor Robert Berchtold in A Friend of the Family. Later work includes The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, Apples Never Fall and All Her Fault. His evolution from dependable "nice guy" to unsettling, morally complicated men has demonstrated a much broader dramatic range.
