Born in Santa Barbara, California Victor French followed in his father's footsteps by beginning his television career as a stuntman. Although uncredited, his first acting role in film was as a background character in The Magnificent Seven. He was Chief Roy Mobey in Carter Country, Agent 44 in Get Smart, Isaiah Edwards in Little House on the Prairie, and Mark Gordon on Highway to Heaven.
Victor French, a heavy smoker, was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer in April 1989 and passed away in June at age 54.
