Robert Redford

Robert Redford was an acclaimed American actor, director, and environmentalist, born in Santa Monica, California, U.S. As an actor, he was known for his diversity of characters and good looks. His movie hits include Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), The Candidate (1972), The Way We Were (1973), The Sting (1973), All the President's Men (1976), The Natural (1984), and Out of Africa (1985). Redford's many awards and nominations for acting and filmmaking include Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Emmys, and BAFTAs. He founded the Sundance Institute and the Sundance Film Festival in Utah to advocate for independent filmmaking. He also had a lifelong commitment to environmental and liberal political causes.
