Born in Hammond, Indiana, Terry Funk grew up in Amarillo, Texas and was considered one of the most influential professional wrestlers. He began his career in 1965, working for his father's Western States Sports league and often jumped from organization to organization over his five decades in the sport. As an actor he appeared as Frankie the Thumper in the 1978 film Paradise Alley, and in 1985 he played the recurring character of Prometheus Jones in the TV series Wildside.
Terry Funk died at the age of 79.
