Gold goes to a mausoleum and conjures a portrait of Belle and asks if she can hear him. as he talks about how he and Gideon miss her, Facilier steps out and tells him to let his pain out. Gold advises him to leave, but Facilier says that he came to help. He knows that Gold has met Alice and is wondering if she's the Guardian. He jabs a voodoo doll of Gold with a pin, but nothing happens. Gold chokes him and asks what Belle said, and Facilier says that the Guardian is pure of heart and the only way to find out is to test Alice. Facilier says that Belle still sees darkness in Gold, and without her he'll succumb to it. Gold releases Facilier and tells Belle that he'll find the Guardian in time. Facilier warns that if Gold doesn't then he'll take the Dagger.
Rogers and Weaver go to the interrogation room and find Nick dead. Weaver finds straw from a doll on the floor and realizes that someone else was there, and tells Rogers to lock down the building. He goes to the evidence locker and discovers that the Dagger is gone.
Margot finds Tilly at the troll doing a sketch. Tilly says that there's a buzzing in her head but Margot can't find it. Margot invites her to spend the day with her and Tilly accepts. She wonders if it's a date, and Margot says that she hopes so.
At the bar, Jacinda meets with Henry and blames herself for not seeing Nick for what he really was. She asks what Nick told Henry, and Henry says that he's not ready to discuss it yet.
Weaver tells Rogers that he knows who killed Nick. Rogers figures that he's scared, and Weaver leaves without a word.
Gold goes to the cabin where Alice is, and realizes that he's starting to transform back into Rumplestiltskin. Robin arrives from Storybrooke, bringing Alice a letter from her father and a bracelet to swap with. Alice offers her a watch running backward that she acquired in Wonderland, Once Robin leaves, Alice goes back inside. Hook finds Gold and draws a sword on him, and says that he knows what he really is. Gold tells him that he's there to help, and he can't break Gothel's dark magic without using equally dark magic. He says that he's there to test Alice because she's destined to become the Guardian Hook refuses to let Alice take Gold's place, and says that Alice finally has a chance for a normal life. He puts the sword to Gold's neck and orders him to leave.
Rogers is watching the surveillance footage of the interrogation room. The desk sergeant comes in and rogers says that an electrical surge wiped the cameras at the same time Nick died. The officer has stills from a bank's cameras across the street. Drew is in the photos. Once the desk sergeant leaves, Henry comes in and says that he's not sure what's real after what Nick told him. He asks Rogers if he'll let him talk to Nick, and Rogers says that Nick is dead. He's going to Nick's apartment to search for leads, and Henry begs him to let him go. After a moment, Rogers agrees.
Regina is in the bar basement mixing the potion. Weaver comes in and tells Regina that Samdi used some of the potion to kill Nick and take the Dagger. Regina doesn't believe it, and Weaver says that he's there to get the potion and level the playing field. He insists that Henry has been fine, and Regina reminds him that Henry is his grandson She says that it isn't the way and that she'll talk to Samdi and get to the bottom of things. Until then, Weaver shouldn't do anything.
Tilly and Margot walk through Hyperion Heights and Margot buys them candy apples. Tilly takes her to a bookstore and says that it's one of her favorite spots in the whole city She shows her a map of the world and says that she can go anywhere from there, and Margot shows her the bracelets she picked up at all of the places she's been.
Alice admires Robin's bracelet and says that she'll never take it off. Gold comes in and Alice says that Hook wrote her a letter saying she shouldn’t talk to Gold. She notices the scales on Gold's hand, and he dismisses it as nothing. Gold says that it's not important, and he hopes to see Alice and Hook reunited. He tells Alice that he has a way to cure Hook's heart, but Hook thought it was too dangerous. Gold thought that Alice should decide for herself, and Alice agrees to get the cure. Her visitor warns that Facilier has the cure and he'll put up a fight, but he has a plan. Alice agrees and goes to get her cloak, and Gold covers his hand.
Regina goes to see Samdi, who admits that he killed Nick. She asks if Samdi took the Dagger, saying it's about more than them. Samdi figures that the Dark One is involved, and reminds her that he came back to the Heights to get the Dagger. He admits that he doesn't have it, and Regina says that she believes him. as she starts to go, Facilier asks if he'll see her later and Regina says "maybe". Once she leaves, Facilier turns to where Weaver is waiting. He says that he doesn't believe Facilier and it's time for them to talk.
Alice arrives at Facilier's cottage and goes inside. Facilier comes up behind her and she says that she was hoping to talk to the dead. He tells her that the dead are saying that she's not there to talk. Gold appears and Alice takes out Facilier's heart. She wonders what they do next, and Gold says that the only cure for a poisoned heart is to sacrifice someone else's. To save Hook, Alice has to crush Facilier's heart. Facilier says that Gold has found his test for the Guardian, and Gold silences him before he can say anything else. He then tells Alice that all she has to do is start, and he'll finish it. Alice refuses to do it and restores Facilier's heart. She leaves and Gold goes after her, and he says that he's been searching for a powerful person who is going to do something far greater than anything before, and she's that person.
Samdi invites Weaver to look around, but Weaver figures that Samdi has hidden the Dagger elsewhere. He draws a gun on Samdi, who points out that if Weaver kills him then he'll never be reunited with Belle. Weaver says that he'll find the Dagger and lowers the gun, and Facilier teleports him back to his car with a gesture.
Rogers and Henry enter Nick's apartment, and Henry finds the blood test that Nick showed him. they hear glass shatter in the next room, and Drew runs out, shoves Rogers aside, and leaves. Rogers runs after him and finally manages to capture him. Drew insists that he's one of the good guys, and says that he was looking for something to protect himself from Samdi. He figures that Nick had something on Samdi and if he could find it, he could use it to protect himself. Rogers wonders what Samdi can do, and Drew tells him to examine the ME's report on Nick and then look deeper.
At the bookstore, Margot says she saw a bracelet at the counter and got it for Tilly as a reminder of their adventure. Tilly hears the buzzing in hear head again and says that she can't do it anymore, and walks out.
Regina locks up the potion and goes upstairs. Weaver slips in, gets the potion, and uses it on a map of the city to find out where the Guardian is.
Gold takes Alice to the mausoleum and shows her the portrait of Belle. Alice sys that Robin has seen something special in her, and wonders what it's like where Belle is. She talks about how she's free now, and figures that the Dagger knows how to grant Gold his wish. Alice says that the Dagger is trying to tell her, and it flies through the air to her hand. the darkness emerges from Gold and enters the Dagger, and his name disappears from the blade. Gold remembers Belle telling him that he's a good man, and the Dagger vanishes from Alice's hand. he sees Alice's bracelet and grabs her hand, and the Dagger drops to the floor. Gold picks up the Dagger and says that he promised that when he passed the Dagger on, it wouldn’t be a burden. Immortality would be a prison for Alice, and he couldn't let her go through that. Gold says that he'll have to find another way even if he loses the battle with the darkness. Alice tells him that she knows who Gold really is and won't let him forget it.
Weaver goes to the spot on the map--the troll statue--and finds Tilly. She says that the buzzing is a voice trying to tell her something. Gold finds the Dagger in her backpack, and Tilly insists that she didn't take the Dagger. He says that she was guarding the Dagger for him, and sys that she's not the one he's angry with.
Gold, further transformed back into Rumplestiltskin, watches as robin arrives to see Alice. Hook arrives and thanks him for what he did for Alice and Robin. The pirate says that he owes Gold a great deal, and offers his hand. Gold hesitantly shakes it, and says that he's going to keep spinning because that's what Rumplestiltskin does best. Muttering to himself, he walks off.
Weaver takes the Dagger back to the evidence locker and puts it in its box. Regina arrives and says that the potion was the only magic she had to save Henry and Weaver stole it. Weaver admits that he took the potion, and says that Tilly is the Guardian and she made sure the Dagger was kept safe. Regina realizes that everything Weaver did was for nothing, and Weaver insists that he did what he had to. She says that she thought he could trust her but went behind her back to get what he wanted and put Henry's life at risk. Disgusted, Regina says that Weaver hasn't changed a bit and they're through.
Henry goes to Rogers' desk with coffee, and thanks him for taking him to Nick's apartment. He admits that he doesn’t know if it helped, and Rogers shows him the ME report. It shows that Nick was stabbed through the heart from the inside, and Rogers wonders what is going on in the town.
Tilly goes to the bar and tells Margot that she's never quite sure what day it's going to be. She doesn't want Margot to see the not-good days yet, and Margot assures her that she doesn't have to worry: it won't be too much for her. Margot gives Tilly the bracelet that she dropped and puts it on her wrist, and offers her a drink.
Henry goes to Jacinda's apartment and shows her the blood test indicating that he's Lucy's father.
