A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King's best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King's literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.

God damn why they end this?

One BIG problem with most King adaptations to the screen big or small. First I will say, I loved the movie Shawshank Redemption. It was doable. But most of Kings horror fare is straight up R rated horror. And... When Hollywood tries to go to film. They ALWAYS flinch. They try for pg or something thereabouts. The last attempt at Pet Sematary was R rated and still was too toned down. If you don't want graphic horror, you want the implication of horror. Then get a Hitchcock for a Director. To adapt books to film usually takes writers as few novelists are adept at screenplay writing. So I am seeing in most King adaptations a lack of decent writing and direction. The only horror movie I remember seeing that was good was The Langoliers. That was full on creepy. Most film based on King tends to bore me somewhat.
Which brings me to Castle Rock. I suffered 3 episodes. No more. I wasn't going to watch all this great King lore portrayed by many A list actors or actors that in my opinion should be A listers, get turned into bland tasteless porridge. Seeing it cancelled after two seasons only makes me wonder... Why were they given a second season?

Parallel universe or time jumps?
