Since nobody else has mentioned the obvious Peter Pan shaped elephant in the room - as if the first episode title wasn't a big enough clue - here it is:
Boy Kavalier: Peter Pan
Wendy: Wendy Darling
Joe: John or Michael Darling? not sure which
Kumi: Hook - complete with an artificial hand
Smee: Smee - Hook's first mate
Slightly, Curly, Nibs: Lost boys, same as in Peter Pan
Kirsh: I dunno, Tick Tock? Although the Alien itself is a contender for this one
Tinker Bell: ? - maybe she'll show up in season 2, unless she's the Eye alien or something
I'm sure there are more. Maybe some of the bad writing that has been commented on previously was to hammer the Alien franchise into this other Disney franchise. When corporate branding gets involved, all bets about story integrity are off. It still looks good, so I'll stick around a bit longer to see where it goes.

Well said. I do think by the end of the season they raised the bar some. Whether retconning to c.y.a. as writers or that was the master plan who knows? I like the series though so will wait with baited breath for Season 2.
Yeah, I'll tune in for (as yet unannounced, or I may be wrong) Season 2 as I love the Alien franchise and live in eternal hope.
But another big issue in today's world is the massive gaps between TV show seasons.
I mean, we may be into 2027 before we see any more of this show...in fact I'd be shocked if that were not at least the case.

Yeah, the show is so very badly written in places.
Things happen just so the plot can go on, not for any logical reasons.
Like, it's a multi-billion dollar facility, yet the Android has a child (in an adult's body) go work in the HIGHLY DANGEROUS labs on his own. Just hack away there and see how you get on!
Fully un-supervised.
It's nonsnese but the writers were like - "we need these things to happen to progress the story". It's shoddy in the extreme.
And lazy.
Allegedly smart people doing absudly stupid things to progress the story is never a good look...dreadful stuff.
It's a shame really as the atmosphere, visuals, audio etc. are excellent.,
But bad writing can take down the best of shows (I'm looking at you, GoT).
