Hi, can the photo of Ben in the red jacket be deleted from his gallery? Since he isn't Sparrow Ben, he shouldn't have this as his main image (this is my fault, as I'm the one who uploaded the photo in the first place). https://www.tvmaze.com/characters/598201/the-umbrella-academy-ben-hargreeves/gallery

Regardless, that's how the network is classifying the show, so those are the genres we use as well.

Netflix doesn't use Supernatural as a category. It classifies everything with monsters in it as fantasy and/or horror even if they are things like vampires and ghouls. Netflix even categorizes the show titled Supernatural as fantasy, not supernatural. This official link shows that the show Supernatural says fantasy under genres and nothing about supernatural: https://www.netflix.com/title/70143825#section-more-details

Where does it say in TVmaze's policy that we must use the official genres as described by the premiering channel? I think it's better to use genres that more accurately describe the show. If the policy really is to use the official genres then there are a lot of changes to be made.

Supernatural is more accurate though.

Supernatural and fantasy are closely related. Fantasy is about things like unicorns dragons and elves. Supernatural is about werewolves, ghosts, devils and demons. Both genres also incorporate magic in them so there is some overlap. But this one is clearly supernatural since it has several demonic characters in it and nothing that would be categorized as fantasy.

What exactly does Netflix' genres for the show Supernatural have to do with "the network" (in the context referred to by @LadyShelley )?

Either way, since not everyone agrees with your genre-descriptions, how about not trying to enforce your personal pov? Ponder Majority rules....

dates are changed. :)

If a show without an official title was accepted before it was a mistake thta one of us made, as per policy, the show must have at least a working title.

Sorry for having to come back to MSNBC Prime, but it ended up airing last night after all: https://www.tvmaze.com/episodes/2338777/msnbc-prime-1x24-episode-24.  If you could shift the episodes, hopefully this will be the last time.  I'll only add one or two episodes at a time instead of doing a week's worth to try and prevent this from happening again!

From the TVmaze policy:

Fantasy -- Series about magical worlds, beings, or spell magic
Examples: Hercules the Legendary Journeys, Merlin, Once Upon A Time

Supernatural -- Series about events, beings, or situations outside the natural world and/or defies scientific explanation
Examples: Grimm, Sleepy Hollow, Supernatural

According to this, God's Favorite Idiot, a show which has characters outside the natural world such as the devil and God and other supernatural beings, falls within the supernatural genre. God's Favorite Idiot is not about magical worlds, beings, or spell magic so according to this, fantasy is not a genre of the show.

LadyShelley says that TVmaze is categorizing it as fantasy because that's the genre that Netflix uses. But I've pointed out that Netflix always uses fantasy and/or horror genres to describe supernatural themes. For example TVmaze uses the series titled Supernatural as an example of a series in the supernatural genre, but Netflix does not classify this or any other series with a genre of supernatural. And I don't see anything in the TVmaze policy about always using the premiering channel's genres when there are better more nuanced genres to use to describe the show.

But The CW, which was the original network for Supernatural, did classify it as "supernatural".

Please stop now. This has been discussed with the higher-ups and the genres are fine as they are.
