BBC has no commercial breaks. The episodes slot is Wednesday nights 9pm-10pm. Adverts may be shown between shows on the BBC but that's it, and that's just for other BBC shows.

We are in the process of discussing the runtimes with web channels and networks that do not have commercials. We do not have a result, if we go for the 30, 60, 90, 120 way or the exact way like 28, 87, 115 and so on.

This is a difficult situation, as both summaries are official and it seems the runtimes he changes are also including the commercials. :o

The BBC would never advertise the show as airing between 21:00 and 21:57 or 21:02 and 22:00. In every TV listings site/magazine and it's own schedule online it shows 21:00-22:00. Every other show would be listed incorrectly if this was the way we were adding in episode runtimes to the exact timing that they air.

I was under the impression that a summary was just that and didn't go on for 3-4 paragraphs of text.

yes, I also prefer the shorter summary, but both are official, what shall I tell the user, that I do not like his official summary ? :P

I will get back to you with the runtimes as soon as we reach a conclusion :)

I have moved the longer summaries for other shows before into recaps, which I thought was what it was meant for :). I just assumed a summary was just that, not for mountains of text - didn't we have an issue before (not with this show) were people would then complain about spoilers?

I am assuming the runtime discussion is in your guys forum/chat. But can I just add a point that unless someone is watching every single episode added to the site, you would never get the metric right if you changed it to the actual runtime of the show :-p. The BBC would never provide a pinpoint accurate schedule of when episodes will air, it is just 5/10/30/45/60 minutes etc. They may upload actual programme lengths but not the exact time the show starts. ITV etc would be even more difficult with full on advertisement breaks included, the schedule page would have blocks of nothing all over the place.

yes, if the summaries are too long and too detailed they should not be used, for a recap those new summaries are way too short tho. I am talking to the others right now Tom, give us a bit time :)

@JuanArango The BBC don't have advertisements; it's subsidised by mandatory TV License in the UK.

The only content they run between TV shows is BBC promotional stuff / announcing what's on (if I remember correctly). So they still consider it in the schedule as an hour-long show even if it's 58min show + 2 min filler.

In terms of the summary, they'll often have a really short one and really long one, with the longer displayedeonline when you're viewing an episode page. It doesn't really matter too much as long we keep it consistent for a show (though sometimes the longer one is just too long to be used here).

I will message the guy that the runtime needs to stay at 60!

Gazza's explained it a lot better then I have, but yes he's right it's just filler content probably 2-3 minutes at most. Sometimes nothing at all and straight into an announcer with the next show.

I don't  think there was episode 13, dated "Mar 17, 1999"  in third series of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

https://www.tvmaze.com/episodes/1339044/who-wants-to-be-a-millionaire-3x13-episode-13

Wikipedia lists 12 episodes:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_Wants_to_Be_a_Millionaire%3F_(British_game_show)#Main_series

The episode dated March 16th opens with host saying it's the last in the series:

The on screen data is proof, the host says it is the last, episode 13 is deleted. :)

That was quick. Thank you very much.

I am unable to edit https://www.tvmaze.com/episode/update?id=222038

It is actually Season 10 Episode 8

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1440593/?ref_=ttep_ep8

https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/listseason/10.html

Synopsis:

The accident at Three Mile Island made front page news all over the world and rocked the entire nuclear power industry. In this special 90-minute broadcast, NOVA presents a docudrama chronicling the minute-by-minute events leading up to the accident and examines the questions raised about safety confronting nuclear power industry today.

This is so tedious not being able to edit as I am working on them all from Season 1

The IMDB id for this show is not correct: https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/6033/empire

It points to https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0262396/ but it should be https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0403759
