Edit Requests

MaryamAlMaqrashi wrote 3 years ago: 1

Everytime I try to add the show with tvdb ID 331447 it says that it is already taken. Howeve, when I search using the tvdb ID, I can’t find it and it is not in the list of requested shows.

@MaryamAlMaqrashi I had put on an earlier request "Please can you confirm where this aired/streamed?"

I'm unsure where the premiere was.

Hi, I recently added a new poster to The Masked Singer season 5 (I copied it from The TVDB), but I'm not allowed to change the main image of the show due to too many editing conflicts (and this is my first time doing a poster, so I promise it's not me). Could someone please help me to update the poster for this show (the show's main image, since the current poster is from last season)? It would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I strongly suggest you use posters from TVDb only as a source for Google image search (right-click - search Google for image), because they usually are scaled-down (sometimes upscaled or otherwise distorted) copies of officially released hi-res images. And per TVmaze image guidelines, images should be uploaded in the highest available resolution.
Or just stick to official sources, such as network web- and press sites, this way you can be sure you're got the best available official copy.
I've added the main poster, from FOX's official site, and its resolution is almost 4 times higher than the TVDb copy.

Ok, thank you so much. I'm sorry, I thought I was following the rules when it came to resolution. Like I said, it's my first time, but I do appreciate the help. Thanks again!

Well, it never hurt to check, is there a higher resolution than you have. Just in case :)

could you please NOT upload microscopic thumbnails from Netflix?
https://www.tvmaze.com/faq/47/episode-and-character-screencaps
Screencaps directly taken from an episode where the source resolution is 720p (1280x720)* or higher.

Now instead of spending 10 seconds to bulk upload hi-res screenshots, I'd have to go through each episode to delete those thumbnails first.

Also, read these guidelines about summary text formatting https://www.tvmaze.com/faq/28/summarybiography-text-formatting

I don't know, where did you get the episode summaries and why they have all names in bold, but Netflix definitely not have this.

https://www.tvmaze.com/episodes/1845762/comic-relief-2020-special-the-big-night-in

Should this be included here?

It was a one off event held last year, a combination of both Comic Relief and Children in Need, so I didn't add it at the time.

Would you say it can be seen as a special?

Yes but it would be for both series, it wouldn't belong to one.

hmm, difficult situation, as we are not allowed to list an episode twice, the question is to not list it at all then or list it with one show.

The BBC list it as its own entity, when the show aired I added the specially filmed new episodes of other shows as specials, as they were only 3-6 minute scenes filmed for the show but their title sequences aired.
