Am I the only one having problems with Firefox Quantum?

A few months ago my computer automatically downloaded and installed the newest version of Firefox, Firefox Quantum, without my permission. Ever since I have been having trouble left and right with this browser. Mainly it is just really slow. Anyone else having this issue? I'm getting really sick of it. I hate Chrome so now I don't know what to use.

Nope, sorry, not having speed issues with Quantum, it actually seems a bit faster for me than Chrome for loading TVMaze pages . :) Are you having specific issues with elements not loading or not being able to do certain things or is it just a speed issue? That may have more to do with your system than the browser.

I was having problems when it first downloaded. I had to remove/replace some of my addons and that seemed to fix the problem.

I think what's happening is that the new Quantum has a memory leak or something. It runs fine until it starts to max out. I just had a few browser tabs open yesterday. Not more than 15 or 20. Then it just started hanging and making me wait forever. That should be no big deal. This has been going on ever since I was forced to install the update.

15-20 tabs is a lot more than a few! It also depends on what those tabs are doing. Running video? Are adverts running/switching/etc? Did you try what Rickiesgal suggested and reinstalled any extensions?

By the way, if you're used to using a tab suspender to reduce memory usage, most don't work with Firefox Quantam as they haven't implemented all of the functionality yet (the ones that do work right now will probably kill the tab and re-load it when you go back to it).

15-20 tabs isn't that many. Of course when it starts to bog down common sense dictates to close some tabs, but even that doesn't work. I pretty much have to restart my computer to get Firefox to work normally again.

I don't use tab suspenders or even know what they are. I don't typically have a lot of tabs open but sometimes when I'm doing research I'll open a bunch of tabs so that I can refer back to tabs I already have open. And when things get slow I'll start a new search while I wait for pages that are taking forever.

Firefox works great for me, perhaps try creating a fresh profile and re-installing your addons one by one.
