@LadyShelley You could be right ... but have they found the magic secret sauce to bring together the warring sides in the DSA (Dysfunctional States of America) ... has the polarization of American politics had an impact on TV ratings? And if yes, how much? And has Roseanne found a way to work around it and keep the ratings above average?

ABC has been hyping this reboot/continuation/whatever you want to call it for weeks now. The looky-loos were out on force just to see how it had changed in the intervening years. I have no doubt it will get a renewal off those numbers alone, but it won't maintain anything like a 4.9 week-to-week. ABCs weekly average is, I think, a 1.1 (I'd need to rerun the math to be exact). The highest rated comedies for the network (Modern Family and The Goldbergs) run about a 1.6. Week three will be the one to watch for Roseanne. The curiosity viewing will be past, the mildly interested will decide if they want to keep with it or move on.

@LadyShelley Agreed, nothing currently will maintain a 4.9 over the long haul ... but if they stay above a 2.0 the rest of the way Roseanne et al can write their own cheques ... time will indeed tell.

Will & grace launched with 10 millions. Roseanne and will& grace are not in the same park. We'll just have to wait next week.

3.9 demo with 15+ million total viewers ... Rosie is hanging tough in week 2.

Roseanne said she doesn't think Trump had anything to do with the ratings even though he kinda claimed he did ... in other news, Trump also claimed credit for tides, sun rise, longer days in the northern hemisphere and that orange juice is just his bottled sweat ... film @ 11

Regardless of the ratings, can ABC weather a summer of Hurricane Rosie sending out tweets/statements that stir the pot, cross the line and/or make advertisers nervous?
