Requesting new shows: use the request tool

david wrote 9 years ago: 1

We didn't expect this many requests :-)

If it turns out that we can't handle each request shortly after it was added, I'll add support for amending or retracting ones own requests.

yeah sorry about the many requests :D

My request for E-Ring got rejected because it suppose to in database already but the reason gives a link to a complete other show called Windfall. When i try to request again it gives the id for E-Ring as already in use.

I think this might have been an error from our side :)

+1 for an edit option on someones own requests. I missed thetvdb id by accident for the show 'Hartbeat', its 190961 if you still need it..

thanks and great work on the site guys btw

The tool works like a charm. A great way to streamline the add request. Kudos!

Happy you like the tool :)

How do one link existing shows on tvmaze to their tvrage id's, so your API can convert my old tvrage id's to your show id's? I'm asking since you have most of my shows listed, but the API doesn't find it via the tvrage id's. Thanks!

Can someone make sure that for the request i made for Roadies, someone adds the missing E between I and S a the end of the title. Sorry went too fast.

In case you are talking about the Showtime show, it seems fixed :)

cheers
Juan

Thanks. i'm not sure if it was my request or someone else's. Maybe someone already requested it and that one was accepted. I can't remember where's the waiting list. If i requested after someone else, mine should definitely be rejected :p

I requested that Lovespring International be added. I received a notification that it was rejected with a message asking me to provide the network. How do I do this? I can't create a new request because it now says the tvdb id is taken, and I can't figure out how to respond to the person who rejected the request (JuanArango). If Juan sees this, the network was Lifetime.

I am seeing it and will add the show now :)

Is there any update about making rejected requests no longer prevent you (or other users) from submitting a new request with the same TheTVDB or TVRage ID?

(P.S Before I submitted, I checked it hadn't already been accepted under a different name by using the API)

If there's a rejected request that you think is eligible for adding after all, just post the link here together with an explanation.

gazza911 wrote 9 years ago: 1

@david, the only reason it was rejected was due to missing network.

I added the network, omitted the ID from the field and put it in the comments field, should I not be doing that?

david wrote 9 years ago: 1

That'll work for now :)

But the next time, you may just post a link in this thread and write "the network should be ABC (Australia)". When processing a request, we can add extra information that wasn't provided in the request itself.
