Should network = "Adult Swim" be changed to network = "Cartoon Network"

regarding
https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/6243/tom-goes-to-the-mayor
officialSite: "https://www.adultswim.com/videos/tom-goes-to-the-mayor"   <<< the default Network is set as Cartoon Network

@Chopper So, I am assuming the official site was not set as requested because the host name is not www.cartoonnetwork.com?

@puffosul Yeah, I don't watch Cartoon Network so I didn't have that info... I saw different hostname and network, so that's why I didn't update it.
So, actually, "Tom Goes to the Mayor" is on Adult Swim. :) (which is has Cartoon Network as parent network). Two networks can share the same channel, right?

@Chopper So, this brings up a more general question...  Adult Swim is not a network.  Adult Swim is a programming block on Cartoon Network, but marketed as a network for ratings purposes.  But, ultimately, in order to watch these shows on my TV, I have to tune into the Cartoon Network.

I am of the opinion that all shows with network = "Adult Swim" should be changed to network = "Cartoon Network".  I submit this question to the heads for discussion.

All of the officialSite URL's will still be https://www.adultswim.com because of the marketing.

We are discussing this within staff right now, might take a few days to reach a final decision. :)

Still on the fence but I would sway more to keeping them seperate, I think we are opening a can of more people complaining if suddenly Rick and Morty is listed as a Cartoon Network show. Professionally the two names are given to two seperate entities with different programming offered on each one.

I agree with Tom on this one, while it technically might be the same network the fact that the network quite clearly treats them at two distinct networks and there is quite a difference between the programming (kid cartoons vs adult cartoons) it just doesnt seem right to me to move all the adult programming to cartoon network

When they air... they have an "Adult Swim" logo, right?  So putting it under CN would be wrong in my opinion, even if Adult Swim uses CN channel.

Talking about Rick & Morty if you open futon's page http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/rick-and-morty/listings/ it says Adult Swim, not Cartoon Network. (another reason to leave it this way)

Some arguments convinced me , also for keeping Adult Swim separately now.

Adult Swim is just a marketing campaign by WB the same way networks will have designated blocks for preschoolers adults at, the way Disney airs a Disney Junior block in the AM on Disney Channel or Nick Jr in the AM on Nickelodeon, and Nick @ Nite airs at night on Nickelodeon. This is the same thing. Since Adult Swim doesn't really exist outside of Cartoon Network, I'd agree that they shouldn't be separate.

I don't think the mere fact that Cartoon Network and Adult Swim air on the same (broadcast) channel necessarily means they should count as a single network. If they identify as a distinct network in every other way (a different website, business entity, logo; a separate entity for ratings purposes; etc) I lean towards respecting that.

Has an official decision been made? Just to add another data point, the following is from the Data Policies page:

Network

The network that originally aired this show. This property can change throughout the years, when a show moves to a different network; or perhaps even to a web channel instead of a network. The value should always reflect the current (or when a show is ended, the latest) network that a show aired on. Historical information about the show's network is tracked on the season level.

If a show is co-produced by multiple networks, the network that premieres the episodes first (on a world-wide level) should be used.

How does keeping Adult Swim as the network square with the above requirement?

Adult Swim is the producing and commissioning network. @david answered above, I would say his answer is concise enough.
