Thank you, Sheerwater! I know I saw something regarding a spin off, but couldn't find any real details. This could be quite interesting, I wound up not liking "Beyond Paradise" - didn't care for it at all... this though, with a new character in a similar paradise surroundings will stand-up on its' own as it won't be dragging existing characters with it.

Brit and Dee - Mid January we were hit with -43F (with wind chill  of -65F), end of January 40F, this week 14F. I don't know what to wear anymore!!  LOL

Soler, I really think there is going to be another run of All Creatures! and hopefully they give us a Christmas special with James back home for some reason or other, in time for the arrival of his baby. I have to wonder though if Helen will move back out to the farm with her Dad and sister if Mrs. Hall really does leave?

Brit, I am way ahead of you on Departure, I've watched all 3 seasons and now have fingers crossed for a season 4! Not sure what new transport accident she and her team would investigate?

deedee713 wrote a year ago: 1

Nice. I had seen it before on PBS Passport, but the last episode of Doc Martin was a nice departure.

appara, insert here the shocked emoji...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!............what to wear? A house around you. I am a slug in winter of late (age, medical) so I rarely venture outside except to walk He Who Must Be Obeyed. How DO you do it?

...what to wear? A house around you

Deedee, bingo! 😂

Appara, OMG, I can't even imagine those temps, compared to you I'm living in the tropics. You are made of strong stuff up there in Canada.

Solar, I do think Appara has hit on where "Creatures" may be going - perfect Christmas Special material to have James coming home, the baby arrive and Mrs. Hall also coming home (if she goes) to help. I still don't believe she will be moving far - we will see.

Finished the second series of "Departure" and it was great. Really good. Unfortunately, Peacock doesn't have S3, and it seems that it is not available anywhere in the US to stream as yet.

appara wrote a year ago: 1

Brit, the 3rd season aired on Global early 2023, and is streaming here on GlobalTV.com. I don't think that would work for you in the US.  :(

Are you caught up on the 4th episode of M. Spade?  I got the feeling that absolutely NOT ONE person in that town liked Gabrielles's first husband Jacques - including her?

DeeDee,  I loved your response to my cold weather!!  Too Funny!!

deedee713 wrote a year ago: 1

Thanks, appara! I used to love the cold and snow. I remember building a horse (prone) out of snow when I first moved here. Now I can barely accompany the dog while he meanders on our daily walks.

I wish Silent Witness were available on streaming. I am suddenly enjoying it very much.

The finale to Doc Martin was good, but it was time.

Another nice indie film on Reel 13 - The Scottish Play.

Watched promo on  Departure ...   Brit   ....   looks like a good one ,  will be lookin' for it up here .  At first ,  got it confused with another  '  plane '  series  .   The one I was thinking it was  involved a flight  of 5 or 6 hours , everything normal as far as the passengers were concerned  until they landed  and had everybody staring at them .  The reason  they were being stared at  was the plane flight was a number of years ago  and never arrived  ,  hence  , declared missing ....  and all of a sudden it turns up  ....  stuck in some kind of time warp thing that the passengers knew nothing about .  Can't think of the name of it .

Lost? :P

The Langoliers?

(Yeah, I know, neither of them, but my brains wanted to suggest weird airplane-related shows...... lol)

appara wrote a year ago: 2

Soler, could it have been Manifest?  I was quite PO's when they took it off of cable TV and moved it to Netflix, where I think they gave it an ending

Momijigari, I loved Lost right up till the final season. Grrrr!!!  There were some interesting shows back in the day, I don't think I watched the Langoliers, but reading the wiki it sounds like it might have been a gooder!

Deedee,  I really look forward to more episodes of Silent Witness! Going back over some of the old episodes, I do prefer Nikki over Sam Ryan. There was just something about Sam that just didn't click with me. Although I did enjoy the 25th? anniversary of the show episodes where they worked together to solve the crime.

momji  I think  appara  got  it .  Manifest  ...   and  I believe it was  on  Netflix  I saw  it.

Just finished E4...shades of "Murder on the Orient Express"! Great touch.

He betrayed them all, the whole town, as well as Gabrielle, by collaborating with the Nazis - his actions were probably the cause of much pain for each one of the people involved (in his death) - either to themselves or to someone they loved. Collaborators were the scum of the earth. So, he was at the top of the most hated list - with Philippe, Teresa's father, following right behind him. Another soulless character.

I am watching E5 tonight, I am not waiting to see what happens next! I go in to each episode never knowing where we are going to wind up, and I am loving it. For me, nothing is better than a story that takes me on a ride week to week and I have no idea where I am going.  Good stuff, we need more, I have a strong feeling there will be a S2. We can hope.

Just as I am hoping we get to see more of "Departure" here in the US!

Solar, you are going to really enjoy "Departure", right up your alley. I didn't watch "Manifest", started it - I think I finished the first episode, but it must have not grabbed me 'cause I never went back after that.

Deedee, did you give up Britbox? I thought "Silent Witness" was streaming there.

Yep, I just checked, it is. It may be worth - particularly if you want to binge watch - getting a subscription for a month or two (there are a lot of seasons) and then let it go when you are done.

appara, Brit, I can't begin to explain what's going on with a new virus in Westchester while trying to get cataract surgery! TMI, but stress is affecting how I search on Fire TV and trying to find Silent Witness on Britbox via Amazon Prime!

I finally did it, and found Silent Witness goes back to season 2 (no season 1, explain that to me, Amazon, but hey, Bezos just sold a billion dollars worth of stock and Amazon now has ads on TV and videos if you don't have prime, guess he needs the money).

Anyway, I am binging on season 24 and you are so right, appara, Nikki is better than Sam, and I liked Sam. I DO wish Richard Lintern wasn't killed off, guess he wanted to move on.

Speaking of a must not miss show, imo. Elementary.

It's on Start TV (two episodes every weekday) or for sale on Prime Video.

I found it interesting to find a glowing recommendation from The Guardian.

Deedee, "Elementary" has gotten praise from numerous corners, kudos that The Guardian has put such a high stamp of approval on it. I am not a regular viewer, but have watched episodes here and there, enough to see that it is clever and well done.

Hang in their kiddo, if you can't say something to us, than who can you say it to - we are far from strangers here. Please, you people, as a community, have gotten me through more life challenges, as well as, celebrated my high moments with me more than anyone else. Believe me.

This winter season seems to have been a particularly difficult one for many people. Cataract surgery will be eye opening - pun intended! I have not had it myself, but have known people who have had it and it is life changing in how it can improve your vision. I won't tell you not to stress, 'cause we are going to stress regardless of what anyone else says. I get it. Let's hope that things move in to a brighter light as we go in to Spring. I must say I can't wait until I can go outside and start some planting. That's my zen place.

Soler, don't hold back on watching the last episode of All Creatures, it finished up just the way it should - a feel good story!! I noticed that there is one more episode to come next Sunday, the Christmas episode that I was hoping for. Colour me happy!!

Brit, The reveal on Phillippe's beginnings was not what I would ever have guessed! I thought he came from a wealthy, not a broken family. It makes sense that his mother would be angling for some of the inheritance money that Theresa is soon to be getting!  I am hoping for a happy ending for that young boy, but unless Phillippe does a complete turn around, and I don't see that happening. Which of those two vicious spies will survive is a coin toss, I kinda have fingers crossed that they both get put down.

I was not invested in Jean-Pierre's story. Would he not have been better off to hijack the boy from the buyers, rather than try to take down Phillipe and the 'not-nun'? Then again, there may be more to his story in the finale? Or, most likely, that shot was the end of him.

Marguerite solved a big piece of the puzzle for Spade, although I think he may have had his suspicions before she said it out loud?

Dee, I had a cataract surgery on one eye, a couple years ago. The worst was the eye cover for night time!! I didn't realize just how bad my sight was until it was fixed!  I hope they find an opening for you quickly!

Hubs had come down with something. He was having chills and fever, I didn't feel like cooking or cleaning. We zoomed through all five episodes of North Shore over the past two days.  It's a British/Australian production and the story was well written enough to keep our interest. I do enjoy a little comedy in my drama, and this will surely fit the bill if you're looking for something a little lighter to fill the time.

Appara ..  I thought last week was the season finale of  All  Creatures ....   happy to learn at the end  of the Ep.  that next week will  be the finale .  These writers make me shake my head   ....  In the last Ep.  they had  Helen  with a suitcase packed by the front door.  Everybody  packed and headin' out the door . Only one dosen't have a suitcase is Siegfried apparently .  All  ended well with  Helen and  Mrs. Hall  back  playing a word game with  Siegfried .  Looking forward  to the Christmas  Ep.   I see  that   All  Creatures  lost out to  Happy  Valley  at the 2024  TV  Choice  Awards  for ' Best  Drama Series '  held on  Mon. Feb. 12 th.  at the London  Hilton.
