Ratings Roundup Week of February 24, 2019

NBC had a busy week last week with renewal news, three premieres and a finale. In a surprise to no one, Chicago Med, Fire, and PD were all renewed by the network. The move to put all three programs on the same night worked well for everyone. Brooklyn Nine-Nine also scored another season. The Voice premiered last week, up a tenth from its fall premiere. New drama, The Enemy Within also opened well on the heels of The Voice. Time will tell if it can hold those numbers. World of Dance opened low compared to last year. The Titan Games wrapped its season, down a tenth from the previous week.

ABC had a good news/bad news Oscars situation last week. The good news was rating were up from last year. See, you nominate a movie people have heard of they actually tune in! The bad news was, while it was up, it wasn't up that much; it was still the second-lowest rated Oscar night in ratings history. A Million Little Things wrapped its season even with the previous week. How To Get Away With Murder was up at tenth for its final episode of the season. Whiskey Cavalier opened low, it will need to come up a few ticks if it wants to see a season two. Speechless continued to sink, and may be a rare instance where a program in its third season doesn't get a fourth.

FOX wrapped three shows last week. The Masked Singer reached new ratings heights with its finale. Lethal Weapon lost a tenth from the previous week. Its rating have only been fair this season, but should be enough to get renewed assuming they've sorted their casting issues. Damon Wayans seemed to backtrack on his desire to leave, so fans will have to wait and see. The Gifted also wrapped its season, however there's little chance the superhero show will see another year. Proven Innocent ticked up a tenth, but it's also on the low end of the chart and probably won't see another season. The Orville was up a tenth.

The CW ran repeats again for most of the week. The good news was three of the new episodes it did air came out at the top of the chart, the bad news is all of those episodes suffered from being surrounded by reruns. Roswell, New Mexico was down a tenth from its last new episode a couple of weeks ago. Legacies managed to rebound and gained a tenth from the previous week's low. Riverdale was steady with its last new episode, three weeks ago. All American was even with its last new episode, but still low. The fact it was not included in the mass renewal list a few weeks ago should tell fans to enjoy what episodes remain.

Renewals are coming out, and fans of most shows should know one way or the other in a month or so the fate of their favorite shows. How are your favorites doing this season?

@gmpugs. The Goldbergs and Hawaii Five-0 are in no danger. Both should see an easy renewal from their networks. Schooled has been a bit shaky in the ratings, but as long as it doesn't slip from where it is now, it should be fine.

Of the ones I like watching, only 3 haven't made announcements for new seasons: Goldbergs, Schooled, and Hawaii 5-0. Hopefully the ratings for them stay good enough that ABC and CBS decide to renew them. I was happy that Young Sheldon got renewed for 2 more seasons, while all the other ones I watch (with the exception of Big Bang Theory) are coming back for at least another season. :)
