Ratings Roundup for the Week of December 5, 2021

ABC gave an early premiere to Abbott Elementary last week, setting the new comedy series behind a strong lead-in of Live In Front of a Studio Audience. The question is, will that audience remember the show by the time its second episode airs in January? Station 19 lost a couple of tenths with its first new episode in a couple of weeks. Grey's Anatomy was down a tenth. Queens returned after a week off. The good news was it picked up about four hundred thousand viewers from its last new episode. The less good news is that is still lower than what Superstar managed in the same slot. The Rookie and Big Sky were even with their last new episodes.

CBS wrapped CSI: Vegas last week. With no news regarding a back nine order or anything about a renewal, chances are the show will be quietly shuffled off. Ghosts picked up five hundred thousand viewers. The FBI shows returned after a few weeks off. FBI was down a tenth from its last new episode, FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International were even. NCIS Hawai'i was down a tenth. Bull was even, but as the lowest-rated drama on the network, its chances for a season seven are slim at best.

To me, United States of Al sucked this season. Unlike The Neighborhood, it had this corny and boring vibe whenever I continued watching it.

I don't watch sitcoms much anymore so I have no opinion on its content. It appears to be holding its own with the rest of the Thursday comedy shows, so it will likely be renewed. Maybe it will improve with the rest of its season??
