Ratings Roundup for the Week of March 13, 2022

NBC premiered Young Rock and Mr Mayor last week. The good news is, both shows did better than American Auto or Grand Crew in the same timeslots. The bad news is, both shows were down significantly from where they ended their freshman seasons. Weakest Link opened its second season way down from its season one numbers, and it may not last long. As predicted, after a second episode that lost another four hundred thousand viewers off its terrible premiere, The Courtship was yanked and will burn off its remaining episodes on the USA Network. America's Got Talent: Extreme wrapped its first season with even ratings though it lost one hundred thousand viewers off its previous episode. The Peacock also announced that New Amsterdam would wrap with a shortened, thirteen-episode fifth season.

ABC wrapped the latest season of The Bachelor with gains of a million viewers over the previous week. The Rookie lost a tenth and five hundred thousand viewers. It will probably still be renewed. The Good Doctor gained a couple hundred thousand viewers. The network has been playing schedule games with the show this season which does not bode well for a long future. Chances are it could squeak another, though final, season. Abbott Elementary was renewed last week. No word yet on most of the network's other comedies. The Wonder Years and Home Economics are the two lowest-rated comedies for the network. The Wonder Years might get renewed, but Home Economics is likely done.

CBS' schedule will be scrambled for the next few weeks as the NCAA Basketball Tournament plays out. Beyond The Edge, a celebrity challenge reality show, premiered last week to low numbers. For the second week in a row, Good Sam was pulled for repeats of FBI. Fans should probably enjoy the remaining few episodes, as they will likely be the last. NCIS: Hawaii was steady and will probably be renewed. With the addition of NCIS: Sydney next season, chances are parent NCIS will be renewed as well. The question will be if NCIS: Los Angeles is renewed. It still pulls consistent numbers but there have been some cryptic tweets from the cast of late that throws its future into doubt.

The CW had an unremarkable week. The 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards was up from last year in a bit of good news for the network. All American: Homecoming lost a ratings tenth, though its audience was about the same. Kung Fu lost one hundred thousand viewers off its premiere. The Flash was even.
