Ratings Roundup for the Week of March 20, 2022

The CW announced renewals for some of their shows last week. In addition to the currently running shows that received the good news, Nancy Drew was also greenlit for another season. It is interesting to note that neither Batwoman nor Legends of Tomorrow were on this initial list. Could be something as simple as still working on contracts, both shows had decent numbers by CW standards. Network execs probably can't wait for March to end. It barely pulled 100,000 viewers last week. Dynasty hit a new low. Have to wonder if that Netflix money is still worth it.

ABC saw most of its shows rebound last week.  Abbott Elementary returned after a month off and fans celebrated the show's renewal news by dropping a ratings tenth from its last new episode. Station 19 and Grey's Anatomy bounced back after a ratings low point the previous week. Both shows were up a tenth. Home Economics gained a tenth as well, but that might be too little too late. A Million Little Things was up a tenth, The Good Doctor was steady.

CBS enjoyed the rating bump from NCAA basketball last week. 60 Minutes had a healthy bump from the afternoon game, climbing three tenths. The boost didn't last the whole night, however, as The Equaliser and NCIS: Los Angeles were even with the previous week. Beyond The Edge was even with its premiere, but that is still low, even for a reality show. Chances are, it won't be renewed. Good Sam returned after several weeks off. It managed to pick up a couple of hundred thousand viewers, but it's done.

NBC premiered yet another short-run reality show last week. American Song Contest opened about where America's Got Talent: Extreme ended. The Endgame dropped a ratings tenth and two hundred thousand viewers. Fans should probably enjoy what's left. Mr Mayor and Young Rock each dropped two hundred thousand viewers off their premieres.

FOX had a quiet week last week. 9-1-1 returned with its first new episode since December. It had even numbers. 9-1-1: Lone Star saw a ratings boost with the return of the parent show. It was up a tenth. Call Me Kat lost a ratings tenth, but had even viewer numbers. Welcome to Flatch lost a hundred thousand viewers off its premiere. Not surprising considering the network dropped the first seven episodes of the series on its streaming service before the show even premiered.
