Ellie is reminiscing about Riley who she loved in the past...while trying to save Joel someone she loves in the present. We also get to see when Ellie is first bitten, along with Riley. In the end, Ellie finds a needle and thread to close up Joel's wound, but is it enough? I guess we will find out in episode 8. Lastly, Riley talks about the two options she and Ellie have after being bitten. While Ellie is literally tearing the place apart, her way of dealing with what she believes is her final end.

"The way I see it, we have two options: 

option 1 take the easy way out, its quick and painless 

 option 2 we just keep going, it ends this way for everyone, sooner or later, some of us just get there faster than others, but we don't quit."
