Steven Ogg was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He began his acting career in an advertisement for the National Film Board of Canada, and worked in various theater productions. He became focused on sports until an injury prevented him from pursuing such a career. After moving to New York, he began acting professionally, starring in television shows, theater work and voice acting. Ogg was hired as the voice and motion-capture artist as Trevor Philips in the video game Grand Theft Auto V.
