Justin Theroux is an American actor, writer, director and producer, born August 10, 1971, in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Bennington College before his film debut in I Shot Andy Warhol. Roles in American Psycho and Zoolander showed his offbeat range, while David Lynch's Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire raised his profile. Theroux directed Dedication and co-wrote Tropic Thunder before writing Iron Man 2, Rock of Ages and Zoolander 2. His defining television performance came as troubled police chief Kevin Garvey in HBO's The Leftovers, earning acclaim. He then starred in Maniac, The Mosquito Coast and White House Plumbers, portraying Watergate operative G. Gordon Liddy in the latter. Theroux later appeared in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and joined Fallout as calculating pre-war industrialist Robert House, continuing a career shaped by offbeat roles across comedy, drama and science fiction.
