Jack Scalia

Jack Scalia was a top New York model - handsomely brooding face and rock-hard body — who had overcome a drug addiction, After just a few months of acting lessons, he landed a miniseries (‘‘Starmaker') and then a series (‘The Devlin Connection'). When "Devlin'' folded, the jobs still came easily — the movie "Fear City," the tryout series
‘‘High Performance," the TV movie ‘‘Amazon.'' But then came the glitches. Scalia decided to quit fretting and find a new hobby. He threw himself into the triathalons, a demanding event that involves swimming, running and cycling. It took four more months for the phone to ring, this time with a villain's role in "Berrenger's." Scalia took it andplayed it with chilling power. Ever since, the roles have been enviable. By 1985, Scalia was busy on ‘Hollywood Beat" a Spelling-Kramer series —Saturdays on ABC — that filled his day with disguises, action and sort-of comedy.
