Born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland and Labrador, Gordon Pinsent served in the Royal Canadian Regiment from 1948 to 1951, and was a fixture in Canadian film, theatre and television for more than 60 years. He appeared in many stage roles and also performed on radio and TV, with an early credit listed in 1957 in the TV movie The Man at the Window. One of his largest roles was playing the character of Hap Shaughnessy on The Red Green Show from 1991 to 2006.
Gordon Pinsent died at age 92 from complications of a cerebral hemorrhage
