Actually I think the link is only live if there is content in the specific wiki. Buffy the Vampire Slayer for example does not pop up a wiki link, while Boston Legal does. Buffy apparently does not have any editor info in its wiki, while BL does.

Yes, that's correct, but when the show has the editor wiki, then it pops up on that show page whenevr you try editing something :)
