Thank you for your detailed explanation and you are correct we should leave it as it then because like I suspected A&E has rewritten history. :)

no longer airing an episode or running reruns differently than originals is not the issue causing entire seasons to be off by two years. Everyone other source i can find other than TMDB lists it correctly for the past several years of episodes which are now consistently named. the error seems to have occurred 15 years ago or so and having incorrect seasons for 15 years because A&E made a change seems weird to me. but no matter to me.
I would note to follow your own logic you should be two seasons off of current not just one. You separated out 2020 and 2021 into two seasons when it was just one season. anyway, thanks for looking into it JuanArango. is what it is i guess.
