I have been updating the new episodes of Motorway Patrol ( http://www.tvmaze.com/shows/22708/motorway-patrol/episodes ) and was following the labeling that TVNZ was using, which was a continuation of Season 16 rather than a new Season 17 as per ( https://www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/motorway-patrol ), despite a near 11 month hiatus.

However, today when I went to add the upcoming s16e13, I noticed that my 2 previous entries have been changed to s17e01 & e02 from s16e11 & e12.

Can you please confirm which numbering is preferred?

Of course we prefer the official numbering. I've changed the episodes back.

I don't follow 'rastlin' so I don't know the history of the show but the TVMaze entry is a different name on a different network and is still running ... TVDb says the show ended in 2011 ... any idea why TVDb didn't keep up with newer seasons/episodes?

Most likely someone set it to ended and nobody actually cared to continue to edit it or so as they might have found a more reliable source for them to use? :p

I suppose. I thought WWE would have had at least one fan(atic) who would have continued the entries and/or created a new series to cover 2012-2018 ... what is this world coming to?! Next you'll tell me no one cares about Roller Derby! :)

Quickie question about character names in shows that have ended (or I guess in still running shows too). If a character starts off as "old lady" then later credited as "John's Grandma" and later still as "Alice Jones" ... we should add the person as "Alice Jones" for all appearances rather than creating different entries for each different credit given.

And yes, it is the same character that grew with the show and not the same actor playing different roles.

Or would it be preferable to add the character as Alice Jones / John's Grandma / Old Lady?

I'd set a real name, and add other credits as AKA. Adding the names via "/" usually means that those are different incarnations / identities or aliases, not the different ways of crediting the character.

What if there is no "real name"? For instance, on Arrow sometimes the same batch of reporters appear, but they rotate "names" like Reporter #1, Reporter #2, Reporter #2, and so on.

No I don't know. I don't follow wrestling either. Just found this when testing a library I'm developing. I can't log into the TVDB forums currently to ask due to their recent site changes.
