GraceNote is the TV listings database that supplies sites like Zap2it as well as some cable providers like Comcast.

This old fansite has the episode listed as airing in March also.

Wikipedia lists it as Mar. 19; their source is http://epguides.com, which in turn sources this site. I'm trying to track down a primary source for Mar. 19. So far July 7 is the earliest date I can find a primary source for.

It will be very hard to find an official source today, official would be MTV or a press release from MTV, I think those are impossible to get after all those years.

I've been in contact with the creator of that site, Dan Pawlak. This is a mirror, and his original site was sold to another party, so he has no way to make any changes at this point. He acknowledged to me that some of the information is incomplete or incorrect. I think the March date is very likely wrong.

In the early days there was no official episode guide by MTV. The only BnB episode guides that existed were those created by fans, usually in the form of lists passed around on the Usenet and web pages. They were riddled with errors. And because sites like that have been up since the 1990s, the errors have had time to spread all over the internet and bubble their way up to "official" sources, like MTV. When mtv.com launched an official episode guide on the web several years ago, I remember they repeated some of the errors. I don't think they put any research into that web page--they just copied the list from a fan site.

That's why I look for primary sources. Tapes from the air and contemporaneous newsgroup postings are the best evidence. Gracenote serves as an official source, but it's possible it has mistakes. That's why I want to find out where that March 19 date comes from.

I need an admin. Dates are grayed out and need to be changed to the previous day. Until that is changed, no other changes can be made to this record without getting the following error message: "Bad airdate! Show is scheduled to air on Thursdays, but this date is a Friday. Note that episodes airing after midnight should belong to the previous day's date." Thank you.

Thanks for looking into it. Other evidence to consider:

*In "Scientific Stuff", Daria was introduced as "Daria Morgendorfer, our straight A student", as if the audience had never seen her. In "Sign Here" and other episodes she appears in, she's given no introduction.

*"Sign Here" is much more like a Season 2 episode in that the format was more standard. During the first season, the standard wasn't set--all the episodes swapped out videos in reruns or swapped out entire playlists. That's why you often see them listed with alternative video sets. "Sign Here" has one fixed set of videos, typical of Season 2.

*I saw "Sign Here" play during the second season, and it was very rare to rerun Season 1 material. I think they replayed Balloon once, and replayed most of them during the Moron-a-thon, and that was it as far as I know, the rest of the season was new material and reruns from within Season 2. Not really proof, but makes you question.

*Sign Here is very similar in plot to Door-to-Door and easily confused

I looked into it, you and those guys know much more about the show than I do (tho i watched it back then), the concern I am having is that almost every source on the internet has the same data. To change this usually requires official sources, which yours are not, as it is impossible to find any official ones today. I am 50/50 about this, let us hear more opinions from trusted contributors on this matter.

Thanks for keeping an open mind. I strongly believe, but can't quite prove, that this is a case of circular referencing, in which early fan sites listed the airdate in March due to confusion with a nearly identical episode, then official sources picked up this error, and 20 years later, the unofficial sites reference the official ones. I've seen this phenomenon happen before. Kind of frustrating.

https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/910/beavis-and-butt-head/episodes

Another correction for Beavis and Butthead, Season 1: The series premiered on March 8, 1993, not in 1992. "Frog Baseball" and "Peace, Love, and Understanding" were shorts that aired on Liquid Television, a different series, in 1992.
I suggest one of two things. Either change their respective air dates to March 11 and March 10 (the first time they aired as part of the BnB series), or move them up to another section called "Pre-Season 1" or "Pilot Episodes" or something along those lines.

This show airs on Fridays. It should say Thursday because of the before 5 am rule. I changed it back to Thursday.

The two episodes I asked you to change are still as they were before. should we just leave them as is?
