Quick question... Is there a quick way that someone with a higher contributor level than me can merge these 4 listings (as they're all one the same character):

http://www.tvmaze.com/characters/94040/baby-daddy-emma-wheeler, http://www.tvmaze.com/characters/68928/baby-daddy-emma, http://www.tvmaze.com/characters/68899/baby-daddy-emma, http://www.tvmaze.com/characters/68876/baby-daddy-emma

Or will it all have to be done one-by-one? I don't mind doing it myself, I just wanted to check there wasn't a quicker way first.

Thanks. :)

No, we don't have such tool. The different characters could be merged only if they're played by the same actor.

But do we need to merge them? As far as I can tell, those are the pairs of tweens who are playing the same character in different ages. Since the growth of a character is incorporated in a plot line, IMO those characters should stay separated.

I disagree, it's still the same character and everywhere else we list a character played by more then one actor as one, it doesn't make any sense why it should be different because the character is a child growing older.

I agree with queenie, they are the same character just growing older.

The policy says: The actor switch is not incorporated in the Show's plot line and interactions with this Character are as if nothing happened.

Which is true for the twins in each of the cases. But the growth of a character is incorporated in the plot line, and interactions are different with a child of different age. That's how I'm seeing this.

And i read it completely opposite to you, the actor switch isn't acknowledged in the show and the interactions are as nothing happened.

But is an interaction between a 30 year old Oliver Queen not also different than with a 37 year old Oliver Queen? :)

was just a joke, but even if the actor would be replaced, it would still be the same Oliver Queen :)

I disagree. It would really depend on how the other characters are taking the change. Would they interact with him like nothing happened, or do they notice a change and react accordingly. A good example would be a Lucy character in the Z Nation, who grows rapidly and changes her appearance even during a single episode. And this is a plot device, and every other character reacting to this physical changes.

Back to Baby Daddy – if the baby was credited as Emma 1 YO, Emma 2YO etc – would it make them a different characters? It still would be the same person, isn't it?

Anyway, I think it's not the right place for a discussion :)

See, this is how I interpret it too. The various twins are all playing Emma Wheeler, yes, she’s growing up, but the actor changes do not coincide with a specific plot point (ie. they don’t hold a birthday for her at the end of every season when they change the twins.) Nor is she ever credited as Emma Age 1, Emma Age 2, etc., it’s supposed to be viewed as the natural aging of a single character. We don’t create a new character when an adult character is recast, why would we with a child?

But obviously some clarification is needed, otherwise we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

The character is the same for all other people in the series, so I say it needs to be merged like Delenn and queenie said.
