Well, it's not a problem to keep them, of course, there's no practical reason to have them as the main image.

 

Here, though, it is a bit more generic, so I can set a different screenshot to appear if something like this is not preferrable...

Those just look weird. I don't see any point in keeping them, and they definitely shouldn't be main images.

Same here. Some generic scene which you can't even see because of the huge letters.

btw, when you see images like this (squeezed or stretched), they need to be deleted without reservation.

Both were mine, but I didn't fix the ratio on that one before uploading it.
I have He-Man on DVD and all episodes are in 4:3 ratio, but some of them, when captured (while watching they appear 4:3 normally) show in widescreen and needed to be manually fixed.
