Is Time Up for Timeless?

Champions is done, the CW shows get better numbers. My guess is the only reason it hasn't been yanked is the network doesn't have anything at hand to replace it.

Sadly, Timeless is also done. I like the show, but it just has not done nearly as well as it did last season.

The decision has already been made for both shows at the network level, probably has been made for several weeks now. The reason the network doesn't want to say anything too early is all down to money. If they announce early a show is canceled, they don't get the same amount a advert money.

If you are a fan AND a Nielsen family ... watch tonight and have as many family, friends with you as possible ... and even then I think they're just waiting till the final episode to air before they deliver the bad news ... hope I'm wrong but, to me, it doesn't look good.

I'm glad you mentioned Nielsen, seems like so many people, including actual showrunner/creators, just throw out "everybody should watch it" stuff when they network only cares about the Nielsen users...

I could see another short season for Timeless to wrap it up it but only if they decide to be extremely merciful but yeah I think Champions won't be the champ. Unless they just want to keep Mindy Kaling on their good side.

I won't shed any tears over Champions but it has grown on me over the episodes and I wouldn't mind seeing another season or 5.

That's how I feel, I like it and would enjoy more but I wouldn't really miss it if it's gone. I think the only thing that could save it would be that it seems like it's cheap to make. None of the cast are all that famous, only Anders Holm and Fortune Feimster but even then they're kind of only well known in specific audiences, and they never have all that many guest/co-stars either.

And apparently on a major cliff hanger ... I know this can happen with cable/streaming shows too but far too often for my liking broadcast TV cancels leaving fans hanging ... which leads, IMHO, to more people waiting to see if a show survives which leads to lower ratings and the spiral downward for broadcast TV continues.

The Blacklist is also missing from the fall schedule, however it's definitely renewed. Apparently it's being moved to mid-season. So there's still a slim chance for Timeless.

Catch-22 :)

Looks like the Timeless will get a decent ending after all!! NBC ordered a two-hour series finale:

NBC and Sony Pictures Television are collaborating on a two-part “Timeless” finale to air during the holidays, giving closure to the globetrotting series that has generated incredible viewer passion.

I suppose they're talking about Christmas holidays?

Could be either Thanksgiving or Christmas/New Years. Thanksgiving could be on Thanksgiving and the following night and Christmas could be part 1 on Christmas and part 2 on New Years, like Doctor Who has done before.

I wish they would have just scaled back on anything that wasn't absolutely necessary and transition it to a summer series, since it aired so late in season 2 it wouldn't be so farfetched... but I'm glad it's at least getting these two hours (or, 80 minutes actually) to wrap it up. Just wish we could have gotten more, it was my favorite current NBC show.
