Roseanne Canceled. No Season 11

Did not expect that but also do not care as I dislike this show pretty much :)

Wham, bam, thank you ma'am :D

The sad thing here is the hundreds of innocent people she has now put out of work. A few faces in front of the camera but hundreds behind the scenes who suddenly went from a 13 episode commitment to 'polish up that résumé'.

This is exactly what unions are for :) Smells like lawsuit :D

I'll call your union with a HR Department and raise you a Legal Department. They likely dotted the i's and crossed the t's as well as using the old heads I win, tails you lose trick to make sure the network can end the contracts at any point. I dream of a world where unions aren't required because employers and companies are decent ... a dream likely never to be realized. :(

Sad but true... However this shit was unexpected, so I guess some loopholes could be found, lawyers cutting lawyers and whatnot. At least they have a scapegoat at hand :D

They often have clauses in their contracts around behavior. And show business being what it is I'm sure they also have cancellation clauses. I agree it's sad for the other members involved in the show. And it taints all their good work.

True. Perhaps legal action against Roseanne herself directly could result in some compensation. She could hire Rudy ... it's working out so well for the Liar in Chief. ABC could be liable if they didn't have an insurance policy on Ms Barr's fingers & tongue ...not for their loss but for their use.

Per https://www.mediaite.com/tv/theres-one-huge-snag-in-abcs-possible-plan-to-reboot-roseanne-sans-barr/

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf and John Goodman will still be paid for most of the scrapped second season at the tune of $300,000 an episode.

The writers and crew, however, are not likely to fare as well.

Good for Sara, Laurie & John. I am truly happy & glad for them that they had a good contract. Very sad for the rest of the crew.

Sadly, folks likes James Pickens Sr., Jayden Rey, and Xosha Roquemore apparently won't. But at long as the white folks got their money.

Given Barr has been nuts for years, maybe the ABC execs should have hired better contract lawyers.
