Ratings Roundup for the Week of February 27, 2022

The CW wrapped three shows last week. Penn & Teller: Fool Us gained one hundred thousand viewers for its season finale. It's already been renewed for another season. DC's Legends of Tomorrow was also up by one hundred thousand viewers for its finale. Batwoman closed out its season even with the previous week. Walker returned after the Olympics hiatus to take the top spot on the chart. It lost one hundred thousand viewers while it was gone. All American: Homecoming lost a hundred thousand viewers off its premiere. Naomi was even. It's an interesting place for CW shows to be in this season. In previous years, the network would have announced its renewals by now. Is this a sign any new owners would make a clean sweep and start over?

ABC premiered the twentieth season of American Idol last week. The competition show was down from its premiere last season but was still enough to rank as the top program for the network. The Rookie enjoyed the boost from an Idol lead-in gaining a ratings tenth. The Good Doctor returned earlier than expected, probably due to the ratings disaster that was Promised Land. The Good Doctor was down a tenth from its last new episode, but that was miles better than what Promised Land did in the same slot. A Million Little Things lost four hundred thousand viewers over the previous week. It's hard to see how the network will renew it again. Big Sky dropped two hundred thousand viewers. Things aren't looking good for it to see another season either. The Wonder Years was even but low.

CBS had a relatively quiet week. NCIS: Los Angeles returned after nearly two months off. It was even with its last new episode. The network also announced yet another NCIS spin-off last week, this time taking the Naval Criminal Investigation Service international with NCIS: Sydney set to premiere next season. This does add more weight to the idea this could be the last season for the Los Angeles crew. The Equaliser returned about even with its last new episode in January. Magnum PI dropped a tenth. Blue Bloods was even. All three shows should be renewed.

NBC announced Ordinary Joe was officially cancelled last week. No one should be surprised by that news. Law & Order dropped two tenths off its premiere. Assuming it holds where it is, it should be renewed. Law & Order: SVU was down a tenth. Law & Order: Organised Crime was even. The Chicago shows were all even with the previous week's numbers. The Endgame dropped two tenths and a million viewers. If it doesn't come up, it will be cancelled. American Auto and Grand Crew both lost a ratings tenth last week. Neither of them could afford it, but Grand Crew is probably closer to the chopping block.

FOX surprised no one with the official announcement last week that The Big Leap was cancelled. Pivoting won't be far behind. It lost another ratings tenth and one hundred thousand viewers. It's merely playing out the side at this point. Next Level Chef wrapped its first season, down one hundred thousand viewers from the previous week. The network loves Gordon Ramsay, though, so chances are it will get a second season. Call Me Kat was even but low, it will probably be cancelled. The Cleaning Lady had steady ratings, but was down four hundred thousand viewers.
