Ratings Roundup for the Week of March 27, 2022

CBS announced renewals for the NCIS shows last week. Parent show, NCIS will be back for a twentieth season, NCIS: Los Angeles for a season fourteen, and NCIS: Hawai'i for a second season. NCIS: Sydney will be in that mix next season as well. No news yet for the FBI franchise, but all three should be easy renewals. The network also premiered a late scripted comedy, How We Roll. The show opened to middling numbers and taken with the fact the network premiered it so late, does not bode well for additional seasons. Beyond the Edge lost another ratings tenth and is likely done. Magnum PI and Blue Bloods returned after the NCAA Basketball break about even with where they were a few weeks ago. Both shows will likely be renewed.

ABC saw a big bounce for the Oscars last week. After several years of sinking ratings, the 94th annual awards were up almost two points from 2021. The network also announced two more renewals last week. The Good Doctor and The Rookie will both be back for another season. Big Sky had even ratings, but lost three hundred thousand viewers. Station 19 was even while Grey's Anatomy lost a tenth.

NBC had a week it would probably like to forget. American Song Contest tanked after its premiere, losing two ratings tenths and a million viewers. Mr Mayor was even for ratings and audience, but still low. Young Rock lost a ratings tenth and two hundred thousand viewers. Weakest Link continued to sink, losing a ratings tenth and half a million viewers. Even for a reality show, that's bad. It likely won't see another season. The Endgame dropped three hundred thousand more viewers last week. It won't see another season.

The Resident returned after a couple of weeks off, down a tenth from its last new episode. Welcome to Flatch lost another hundred thousand viewers and is just playing out the side at this point.

The CW execs are happy March is finally done. The documentary barely pulled one hundred thousand viewers for its last few episodes. Walker returned after a few weeks off and managed to gain a hundred thousand viewers. All American and All American: Homecoming were both even for ratings and viewers. The Flash lost two hundred thousand viewers last week. It is a shadow of what it was even last season and it wouldn't be that much of a surprise if next season ends up being its last.

Upfronts are a little over a month away. Most shows will know their fates before the big schedule announcements the week of May 15. How are your favorites doing? Will they be back for another year?

It would be nice for Morena to have a successful series, but things are not looking good.

The Endgame dropped three hundred thousand more viewers last week. It won't see another season.

Fingers crossed it won't come to that! The plot is intriguing and I love Morena Baccarin.
