Rey Hernandez was born in Havana, Cuba; his family moved to Miami, Florida in 1980 and they have made it their home ever since. During high school years, Rey's love for theater developed and he worked on local theater projects and independent student films. His athleticism and love of sports led him to become involved in football, wrestling, Judo and Ju-Jitsu. Rey attended Florida International University in Miami, where he obtained his B.A. in Criminal Justice and Sociology. In 1995, Rey joined the police force in south Florida
