Born in Washington, DC, Emily Swallow began acting while attending Stanton College Preparatory School and went on the graduate with a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Virginia. Noticed for her passion and talent for acting, she was encouraged to pursue that avenue, and was accepted into the NYU Tisch Graduate Acting Program. Her on-screen debut came in an 2006 episode of Guiding Light, and her film debut in the military drama The Lucky Ones.
