Flo likes her new life and is reluctant to admit her guilt in the murder. She is faced with a cruel decision when Luke shows up with plans to kill the innocent Beau.

Two Army shopkeepers, Marsh and Lawson, have been cheating the local Indian tribes by supplying them with faulty or inferior goods. They know the Army will not investigate the woman's claim if they are at war. Marsh and Lawson murder Pale Moon's brother and pin the crime on the stranger who won $2,500 from them the night before - Beau Maverick.

Bret and Bart inherit a stagecoach line from their uncle, discover that it's only of value to a local rancher, and try to sell it to her for 49% of the profit for the rest of their lives. But the rancher, a stagecoach robber, a greedy lawyer, and his hired killer have other plans.

Beau's conviction seems imminent when the lawyer locates a notorious "hanging judge" and a woman whose sister was engaged to January identifies Maverick as the horse thief.
