Q's & A's

Thomas I see that you added this show "WWII's Greatest Raids" to the "National Geographic Channel" however the Flag is showing the U.S. but if I am not mistaken this series aired in the UK on the "National Geographic Channel" in that country? I do not believe it has aired in the U.S, as of today however if it has aired in the U.S. it was a UK original series and should show it aired there first if I am correct? I do not know how to change the country to indicate the UK instead of the US or I could correct it for you so I hope you can do this? Maybe you can explain to me how to correct a Country Network in case i need to ever do that in the future sir?

If I am overstepping my bounds on telling you this or stepping on your toes in any way I profusely apologize?

BTW - I also noticed that the Episode dates are out of sequential date order as well?

1. 6SEP - 2. 13SEP - 3. 1SEP - 4. 5AUG - 5. 12AUG - 6. 27SEP

Should they not appear in this order? - 5AUG, 12AUG, 1SEP, 6SEP, 13SEP & 27SEP

I'm not sure what website you got the information from but they appranetly never noticed that they had the dates all out of order?

Hi Ron,

I could understand you to be confused with the episode dates being out of sequal, however Discover & National are famous for airing episodes randomly at a different time given or different order of shows. Specific shows air episode 1 for example on the 6th of September in the USA, however episode 5 might have been aired in a different country at first. This might be confusing, but I just took all data from TVRage, although Juandid change it already.

As National Geographic is pretty much worldwide, there's no specific station to report being the first one to air this series as episode 1 might be aired first in the USA, Episode 2 might be aired first in the Netherlands. I just used TVRage information with those date, so feel free to change it if you do not agree with it.

Tom I totally understand about Networks showing episodes out of Episode # order as those are not the only 2 Networks famous for showing episodes out of order, they may show Episode 13, then Episode 7 then Episode 1, Then Episode 26 etc., etc. etc. Episode order # is not what I was questioning it was the airdate sequence order as regardless of what episode # they air the important thing is the date episodes air so ALL shows worldwide in History will always or should always show in sequential date order. 1 Jan, 8 Jan, 15 Jan etc. Even if on 1 Jan they air Episode 7, on 8 Jan they air episode 1 etc.

I saw that TVRage had the episodes over there all out of date sequence as well but since their out of order dates were nowhere near the dates you had I assumed you got your information elsewhere? Once again you had this order:

1. 6SEP - 2. 13SEP - 3. 1SEP - 4. 5AUG - 5. 12AUG - 6. 27SEP

TVRage has this order

1. 26AUG - 2. 19AUG - 3. 9SEP - 4. 5AUG - 5. 12AUG - 6. 8SEP

Only #4 & #5 are on both are in the same order. So unless you are partially dyslexic like me I have no clue where you got your order from?

BTW - I reported the error that they have over at TVrage to one of their higher up Staff members so hopefully they will correct there show as well?

Indeed. Over here on TVmaze, the episodes should always be numbered according to the order in which they aired; regardless of what any other listing says. It looks good now!

Thanks David, not sure why you specified over here because THEY SHOULD always be in airdate sequential order on every site on the Internet even though we know there are a few sights that don't always do it that way but I think that is because they are either not paying attention to what they are doing or they just really don't give a darn how they do things like futoncitic.com for instance. Oh the stories I could tell you about how bad that sight has been over the last 3 or so years you just would not believe the mistakes, errors, false information they have all the time on every single day they have something messed up over there. I sent them over 20 emails over a 6-month period pointing out errors to them. They never responded 1 time and they never attempted to fix any of the mistakes I pointed out to them. Here are just a few examples of what they constantly have mistakes on:

Shows airing on a Night or at a time that is wrong

Episode titles wrong

Shows they claim have been cancelled or on Hiatus that are very much active

Shows that have changed either the day they air, the time they air or both and they are still using the show's old air day, time or both

Displaying episodes that are non-existent anywhere in the U.S. - PBS they have done this several times to that network and back in March they showed 2 full weeks of new special episodes airing 1 per night and not 1 of the episodes they claim were scheduled to air ever aired and they could not be found anywhere on a PBS website as being legitimate episodes. It was like they were just making things up? They have done that 2 more times since March for PBS and it is very weird why?

Futoncritic.com what a joke of a website - I continue to look at their schedule daily just to get my daily laughs in!!

JAGUARDOG wrote 9 years ago: 1

Here is a very good example of futoncritic.com's total incompetence:

"Idiot Test" went from being a 30 minute long show airing 2 New episodes back-to-back every Wednesday night at 8 & 8:30 PM to being a 1-Hour long show back on 2 September 2014 yet they still show it airing 2 separate 30 minute episodes every Wednesday. To make it worse this show moved from 8 PM to 10 PM on 10 June 2015 yet not only do they still show it airing at 8 & 8:30 but show it scheduled to air at that time up through 12 August.

They absolutely have no clue what they are doing, they never have and they never will!

I thought it looked good myself as well until I just now went back to look at it a second time. I still see a U.S. flag and I do not know how to change it to be a U.K. flag can anyone please correct this as well?

You can do it by yourself by selecting a different tv show in the edit section of the main info and look for the National listed below the UK, but I guess National is only as American on this page :)

Changing just a flag would be impossible to do. You have to create a new 'National Geographic Channel' which airs in the UK and than select this channel in the edit page for the main information.

I think I understand you now? If you or someone would have just said that WE DO NOT currently have a Network setup yet for NGC UK then I would have understood better?

Do me a huge favor everyone, please don't beat around the bush come out and say what you really mean in plain English?

New Network has now been created & the show in question "WWII's Greatest Raids" is now showing a UK Flag!

I know that "Contributor" points don't mean much to most members however I like to look at mine several times a day and see my numbers rise as I help the site out. I noticed that if you add an episode to a show you get 2 points however when you add an episode and a summary to that same episode the point value is not any better you still get just 2 points. I believe this needs to be looked at/into and reevaluated so that more points are awarded if you add extra stuff like a summary or an episode photo or episode guest casts to be fair that is?

JuanArango wrote 9 years ago: 1

I agree with you Jaguar, as far as I know everything someone contributes gives one point, no matter if it is a summary, a picture, a poster or an actor.

I will ask david tomorrow about this :)

By the way, I think I can thank you again from all of us for the numerous things you are adding to the site!!!

cheers
Juan

This is true in almost all situations: adding photos, guest cast, or other pieces of information to an episode will all give you extra contributor points :)

The only quirk, as you've noticed, are summaries: you'll get 2 points for adding a new episode, regardless of whether you add a summary or not. This is because of technical reasons; in our system it's mandatory for an episode to have a summary, so if you don't specify one when adding the episode, it simply creates an empty summary (and give you 1 contributor point for it).

This isn't ideal, but it's not easy to change so we'll have to live with it for now. All historical data is preserved though, so when we improve the points system in the future we'll do a re-calculation to account for this quirk!

This is not a Question or an Answer just a Comment. Just in case anyone wants to know why have didn't finish this show that I added yesterday "H20: Just Add Water" it is still a work in progress I will return when I have the time and add in the episodes. I may have to do it now and then this way add then come back so I hope that is not a problem?
