Q's & A's

deleted wrote 9 years ago: 1

This is not a Question or an Answer just a Comment. Just in case anyoneI alreadyy wants to know why have didn't finish this show that I added yesterday "H20: Just Add Water" it is still a work in progress I will return when I have the time and add in the episodes. I may have to do it now and then this way add then come back so I hope that is not a problem?

I already have added all episodes for you :)

Well thank you very much Tom, I just didn't want anyone to think I forgot or was too lazy to add them in. I greatly appreciate your assistance with this one!

No worries, done it several times too to complete it later. :) I just added those episodes without information, so if you feel to add more to them, go ahead :)

JuanArango wrote 9 years ago: 1

I have a request for a much needed function please? I know you already have a long Bucket list so to speak of things to add to the site so if you could put this on that list somewhere I would greatly appreciate it please? Sometime in the future one of us, maybe me if i ever find the time may want to add multiple cast members to shows where they change every season or maybe 95% of them do. Examples would be Dancing with the Stars, Big Brother, The Amazing Race, America's Got Talent, American Idol, The Voice, Survivor, Celebrity Apprentice, etc., etc. I could make a very long list. Anyways what I would like to see added to add a cast member screen is a place to put a number (#) so the system would arrange the cast members in number sequence #. Let me be a little more specific here if I may? A New show begins with 10 Celebrities we add them in with #1 - #10, when Season 2 begins the 10 new celebrities get #11 - 20, and so on until the show ends.

I purpose that the # a person gets determines how high they appear in the Top 8 of cast members. Say the numbers go from #0 up to a maximum of #999. The system wold have to make the 8 highest #'s appear first and so on down. If you want a person to show first in any cast list not just ones like my example you assign them a #999 or 998 etc., I hope this all makes sense but if i have confused anyone I can try to explain it differently with examples if I need to?

I think this is a pretty good idea/suggestion, however I'm not sure how it should be implemented into TVmaze's system without making it look messy.

You had to go and spoil your response by saying the 1 thing that pisses me off the most about responses here "messy". You did that on purpose just to upset me and it worked really good like you knew it would! I really DO NOT NEED any more responses about anything from you anymore because you have a very negative and condescending attitude as well as being very defeative especially whenever I suggest anything here!

JuanArango wrote 9 years ago: 1

Ron,

Thomas said he liked your suggestion and I also think it would be of good use for the site, you should not get so easily offended, we all mean good here :) And we all appreciate the stuff you are adding to tvmaze!

We will bring this up to david and jan and see how they think about it.

cheers
Juan

Please read my comment properly before giving such a response.

I told you that I liked your suggestion, although we should discuss how to organize this in a proper way, so it won't look messy.

Since we still have no rules yet on how to do things around here yet I need to know how you want to handle episodes that Never Aired and those that are now up in the air and may or may not air sometime in the future please?

1. I have a show that I just now found out that 2 Episodes that should have aired on 16 & 23 July never aired after all.

2. This same show also has an episode scheduled for tonight and another new episode scheduled on 6 August. This show is apparently on Hiatus for some reason as there is no information on why no episodes are scheduled for the next 2 weeks?

Do I remove all 4 episodes in question since we do not have a choice of "Unaired" or a choice of "Unknown" or change their Episode #'s to zero and blank out their air dates pr some other option?

Can we get those 2 options added in the future of Unaired and Unknown please?

@jaguardog

If you have suggestions, then you're better off creating a thread on the suggestions forum as explained before.

We can discuss your suggestion(s) there in more detail.

cheers,

Jan

My opinion is for now delete them as they are unaired, I would also be happy with an "unaired" option.

Ron, to have a better structure about such good suggestions, please post it in a new thread in "Suggestions", so we can easily find it :)

cheers
Juan

Hmm. The thing is, we already have a system that automatically orders cast members. It's based on the cast appearance data: the more episodes a cast member appears in, the higher he or she will be listed. This works out very well for all shows I've seen so far; can you think of a specific scenario where it wouldn't?

Uh, to me it doesn't look like a condescending reply, please relax :)

If an episode is unaired/the airdate is not (yet) known, you can simply leave the airdate field blank. If it already has an airdate set, simply clear out the field, save, and the airdate will be blank. :)

Jan, has their been a policy change I am not aware of about being able to add 1 episode only specials or Made for TV Movies? If so I have a ton of stuff I need to start adding here? If not what is with the Made for TV Movie on Disney "Descendants" that aired on 31 July but was not added here until today, 2 days after the fact?

I am very interested in hearing what made you change your minds about these types of non-series's? Especially since I asked about a month ago about adding them as well as Award shows and Beauty Pageants that only air once a year and I was told NO that they could not be added and I believe if I am not mistaken that it was David that told me that?

Jan wrote 9 years ago: 1

No change in policy, I added descendants thinking it was a tv show. Tnx for pointing it out. Deleted.

What is the chance of getting "Language" added to the Show screens or does no one care what language a show is airing in? I assume shows in Mexico, Spain, Portugal etc. air in Spanish but do they all air in Spanish? Anyways my point being I just now added a show airing in the U.S. on Netflix beginning tomorrow that will only be available in Spanish "Club de Cuervos" so do we not need to let people know this? This is not a once only occurrence as there are 3 major Networks in the U.S. that air most of their shows in Spanish and once in a while a couple in English so it might be of interest to someone to know if the show they may be interested in airs in English or Spanish.. Those Networks are "Telemundo", "UniMas" and "Univision" there may be more as I do not follow foreign language shows but these are the 3 Big main Networks that I am aware of. Hopefully in the future we will be adding shows into those Networks for U.S. viewers?

I purpose that it be added into this list:

Show Info

Streamed on: Netflix
Show Type: Scripted
Genres: Comedy
Language: Spanish

Status: Running

Scheduled: Fridays at 00:01

Official site: www.netflix.com

Good idea for sure Ron, but please note Jan's comment in the quote above. It will be easier for other people to read these comments as well using the search button if you made seperate topics for suggestions.

I am very sorry about that guys as I keep forgetting there is a "Suggestions" Forum. I not doing it on purpose, I sweat, it's just that this 64 1/2 year old brain has farts from time to time known as "Senior Moments"! I will try better to remember from now on.
