It's not actual science or historically accurate, so the genre fits. IMDB is also using the same genre tag for what it's worth.

We'll have to agree to disagree. It's no doubt fringe science & history at best but SciFi? A bridge to far for me. Too bad there is no Paranormal genre ... it would fit there I think ... btw I see a difference between paranormal & supernatural.

Part of the problem is that we don't really have genres that fit all types of non-scripted shows.

This show still need a indication that it's not a serious documentary, tho. And Sci-Fi, while I agree it's not perfect, is the best that we have.

Again, we'll have to disagree. It is a serious documentary ... whether you or I believe the theories and conclusions is irrelevant. There are people who believe climate change science is fake & hoax, should we call any shows on the subject SciFi because of it? Or the moon landings? Fitting in with the season, should a documentary about the life of Jesus be classed as SciFi because many billions of people do not believe it to be real history? It's a slippery slope when we involve personal feelings about "known facts".

Personally, I think Supernatural would be more appropriate than Science-Fiction.

I'd agree although a new paranormal genre would be best but yes, supernatural is much closer than SciFi.

Oh , I thought it is one of those many Amazon pilots, where they later decide if it goes to series or not.

No, the pilots usually presented in a complete different way, for example https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X96YZTP

This is not one of them :)

FLCL Season 3 Episode 1 had its premiere on April Fools' Day, I can't create it because: "This entry already existed in the past, so it can only be re-created by a Trusted Contributor or higher."

And yes, they had the Season 3 premiere before the Season 2 premiere.

Do you have anything to proof that? There's no new episodes on official page, nor in Adult Swim schedule. On the contrary, the announcement says: "FLCL Returns! Two New Seasons: FLCL Progressive In June, FLCL Alternative In September!"

Looks like a bad April Fools' joke... Anyway, we can't have season 3 premiering before season 2.

It's real: https://twitter.com/chadbonin/status/980270055341649920

Also, you can see on https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/ that it was real and they premiered it as an April Fools' joke on Toonami.

Edit: The episode is also on torrent sites with official eng subs, it's not leak.

So, this means that they have s03e01in April, then season 2 in June, then the rest of season 3 in September?

Unfortunately this is unacceptable by our policy (chapters Season and Episode number in particular).

Yep... It's FLCL, don't try find any logic behind this.

It seems to me that the whole https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/2772/flcl situation is a one big policy violation. The policy explicitly do not allow: a) subtitled or dubbed versions of the show; b) listing voice actors that worked on the English dubbed version.

See my updated answer above. This situation is against our policy. We cannot have two seasons airing simultaneously, i.e. the next season starting before the previous season ends.

I separated the topic to the data forum https://www.tvmaze.com/threads/3133/flcl-anime for all future discussions.
