About https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/44458/ted-lasso status. Shouldn't it be set as TBD rather than Ended? Or maybe you guys know something show creators don't?

We don’t know. We need a break and will take one presently. Nothing has been ruled out, everything is possible; but that includes the possibility that we’re done. We won’t know until we’ve sat with it for a while, decompressed, etc.

And definitely, there was no official announcement that the show is ended. The last episode was marked only as a season finale.

It seems that he was talking about possible spin-offs about other characters, but the main series itself ended quite well with a great finale. After this completion, the next season will look like the second "Season 9 of "Scrubs".

Even with that statement, I'd say it's ended (at least for now). that is a fairly common response to the press question of "Do you/will you make more in the future?" at press vents touting the end of a popular show. You heard the same thing from Supernatural, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Hawai'i Five-0 productions just to name three.

Then we'll agree to disagree I guess. IMO "to be determined" exactly describes the show's current status.

Nonetheless, technically the Scrubs didn't end after season 8, it ended after season 9. The show's content has nothing to do with its status. The only relevant thing is whether more episodes will ever be produced. Which so far is unknown.

The problem is how long do you leave that status? Even something like Sherlock has been set to "ended" now.

I suppose until something more concrete will be said? But in today's realities, a couple of years seems like a reasonable grace period. True Detective was in limbo for almost 4 years, yet it's alive and kicking. Although I doubt that Lasso will be on the bubble for long. I guess we will know something definitive by the end of the year.

Shouldn't it be TBD until Apple has officially announced it is over though? With the ending, I don't think it'll come back in it's current incarnation, if anything it'd probably be a spinoff, but even Apple's official description called it a season finale instead of a series finale.

Networks and streamers don't always give an official statement that a show has ended. The BBC has never said Sherlock is done, and every few months there's some interview with Cumberbatch or Steven Moffatt saying well we all want to do more, it's just a question of logistics. Those current network shows that are hanging fire? Yeah they are probably done too, but I guess we can at least mark them as ended when the new season starts.

There's nothing saying we can't change the status if there is news of new episodes in going into production. Right now, there are no episodes in production and no plans for more episodes to be in production.

In that case, what's the point of having TBD status for the shows? By the logic you suggest, for any running show after the end of the current season, the show status is either Running (if continuation was announced earlier) or Ended (until proven otherwise). There's nothing wrong with that approach, for example, this is exactly how TMDb has it. Each show is considered Returning until it is Canceled or officially Ended. But since you already have implemented a transitionary TBD status, isn't it logical (and more precise per se) to use it, until the status is explicitly determined by any predefined rules or your internal agreements?

Anyway, I'm okay with whatever status you think is correct for Lasso, I just wanted to point it out in case it was changed without the staff's consent.
