Love on the Spectrum

Hi, Aidan!

I don't quite understand why you added two extra episodes to this series if they are not on the official site. I suspect it's because of another stupid breakdown on Netflix, but Netflix is not the official site for this series in this case. They are not on the Australian resource, they have a completely different breakdown into episodes, which is what we should have. So I removed them again. Please be careful :)

NOVA on PBS

tvjjbj12 posted a year ago

Hello Aidan,

"Baltimore" does not use "'s" in the NOVA episode title "Baltimore Bridge Collapse". Here's the PBS channel schedule I used to add this episode: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/schedule/. I made the correction as you have told me to do in the past.

With all the editing you do for TVmaze, I hope you get watch some shows. If you like good science TV, then I highly recommend NOVA if you can get it where you live. Thanks for what you do.

Hi Aidan,

You've changed the episode titles for this portugeuese show to english titles but they seem to only be online in english on TVDB? There's no portuguese translation of these names, and they aren't called this by the network TV Globo or streaming service globoplay. Can the names be changed back?

Thanks,
Cos

Hi, thanks for the heads up

Seems the problem is that Portuguese doesn't work on the importer and it defaults back to English without me noticing
So good thing someone is paying attention!

I've changed them back now

The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper

tvjjbj12 posted a year ago

Hey Aidan,

You recently added this episode "Political Violence: America's Bloody History" using airdate July 21, 2024. But this episode did air on July 27, 2024 and already listed as Season 2, Episode 18. I watched it.

Here's the CNN press release for airing July 27: https://cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com/2024/07/17/cnns-sara-sidner-reports-in-political-violence-americas-bloody-history-for-the-whole-story-with-anderson-cooper/. I did not want to just delete it since you only added it a few days ago without talking with you first.

Thanks for all you do.

Joe

Hi

Oops, it looks like a bad import from futoncritic, with a typo no less (ouch). I guess that's what threw the dupe checker off.

I don't mind you correcting any of my edits at all.

A lot of them, at least for non-scripted and non-English shows, come from syncing our listings to futon and tvdb and press releases and such.
So sometimes (or very often!) they're wrong, I catch most of it, but not always.

So if you spot any mistakes, feel free to just correct them and yell at me if it happens twice :)

Thanks for reaching out

Cheers :)

Question

Hi, Aidan!
Please tell me what to do? A certain series that was broadcast on a Web channel, let's call it "X", has 8 episodes in the first season and 8 episodes in the second season. A month after the second season episodes were shown, a director's cut of the second season is released on Network (before that, a repeat of the first season was shown on this Network), but in the director's cut there are 9 episodes, and a different duration of episodes, a new episode was inserted between episodes 2 and 3 of the second season. What to do in this case?
On the Web channel where the series was originally broadcast, after the premiere on Network, a separate page appeared only for the second season of the director's cut

Hi

Oh, that's a messy one

I guess this is what I'd do, maybe ;)

The original web channel airing should be listed as it's what aired first, of course.

You say the runtime is different, is it longer or shorter ? If they are longer then check how much longer the episodes are, if it's over 25% longer than the original eps you could do a separate listing for them.
Details here: https://www.tvmaze.com/faq/13/shows#duplicates

If they are not different enough to warrant a new listing, you can create a alternate listing for all the network episodes with their network airdates.

For the extra episodes see if they can be merged or split as explained here; https://www.tvmaze.com/faq/40/alternate-episodes

If they can't, then adding them to the web listing with no airdate is an option, then link to them on the alternate list with dates there.
