Mandip Gill is a British actress and narrator born on 5 January 1988 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. She trained in performing arts at Park Lane College before earning a BA (Hons) in Acting from the University of Central Lancashire in 2009. Gill began her professional career in theatre and made her television debut in 2012 with the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, portraying Phoebe McQueen until 2015. Following this, she appeared in guest roles on several British TV dramas, including Cuckoo, Doctors, The Good Karma Hospital and Casualty.
She rose to international prominence in 2018 when she was cast as Yasmin Khan, a companion to the Thirteenth Doctor on Doctor Who, appearing throughout the show's eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth series and specials. In addition to her screen work, Gill has continued to perform on stage, making her West End debut in 2:22 A Ghost Story. Over her career she has received recognition for her contributions to acting, including awards for her breakout work and an honorary fellowship from her alma mater.
