Ratings Roundup Week of April 8, 2018

CBS announced two renewals last week; Mom and NCIS both received the good word, though no one should be surprised by either announcement. It is interesting the NCIS renewal was only for one year. Is CBS hedging its bets against an Abby-free show? The top spots were once again claimed by The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, while Living Biblically and Ransom sank to the bottom.

No renewal news from ABC last week. Roseanne again topped the chart with The Middle riding the ratings coat-tails. American Idol has not been the ratings winner ABC probably hoped it would be, but the competition show will likely be renewed anyway. Splitting Up Together lost a couple more tenths last week and could be in danger; Alex Inc was steady but low, it's future may also be in doubt.

NBC had a quiet week last week, the top four spots identical to last week. The Blacklist slipped a tenth while Rise was steady, though low. AP Bio, Taken, and Champions are just playing out the side now as none are likely to see another season.

@SilverSurfer and no one is at all surprised by either of those moves. :)

Living Biblically has been smited by angry ratings gods and been pulled from the schedule.

Though not officially canceled, apparently Taken has been taken ... off the schedule that is and is set for a summer, Saturday burn off ... that is the ultimate kiss of death.

The Crossing premiered at a 0.9 with 5.4 million viewers. Not good for an opening because ratings almost always go down from the premiere as people will tune in just to check it out and decide it's not for them. Last week the ratings were a 0.8 and 4.5 million, so not good; it lost about a million viewers and a tenth of a ratings point. So, no things are not looking good for the series.

Oh, I didn't even notice that Life Sentence wasn't on last week, no commercials for it either. Guess that doesn't mean anything good. Question about the Crossing: last week you said the numbers for it weren't good, I take it this week not much better?
