Ratings Roundup Week of April 29, 2018

NBC is still keeping mum about it's renewals, but it did wrap three of it's shows last week. AP Bio, Good Girls, and Superstore all finished for the year. Superstore is already renewed, Good Girls should be renewed, and AP Bio is most likely canceled. Timeless saw a bit of a bump, probably not enough to save it though. Rise was steady, but it's likely done as well.

ABC renewed American Idol last week, no real surprise, the competition show has done well for the network. ABC also premiered Dancing with the Stars to less than fantastic numbers. Roseanne has left the stratosphere and rejoined reality with its numbers, it may fall another tenth or two, but its ratings have leveled off. Deception had a nice bump last week, gaining two tenths; The Crossing however lost two tenths and it's not looking good for the sci-fi show.

CBS still hasn't offered any news for most of its comedies, they must want something to talk about at their upfronts. MacGyver wrapped it season with low numbers. Elementary premiered about where it was last season. Instinct and Ransom were both steady; of the two Instinct might squeak through but Ransom is done.

FOX announced the renewal of Empire last week, no real shock, only surprise was there was no announcement for Star at the same time. LA To Vegas wrapped its season, now it's wait as see for fans to know if its early numbers were enough to secure a second season. Lethal Weapon dropped a couple of tenths, possibly due to rumors about set issues with star Clayne Crawford. The show should be renewed assuming the personnel issues are resolved.

The CW has a workmanlike week last week. Supergirl and Supernatural swapped spots on the chart, and for once Life Sentence was not the lowest rated show for the network, though it was in a race to the bottom with iZombie.

iZombie renewal was a no brainer! Season 5 picked up by the CW.

Bad news for Great News ... canceled.

Designated Survivor has not survived at ABC nor has Quantico, ending after 3 seasons and Alex, Inc signing off after a single season.

NOooooooooooooooo ... Lucifer canceled by Fox ... Fox execs will fry in hell for this one! And I don't know what possessed them to axe The Exorcist but they have.

NBC plays Taps for The Brave leaving just CBS's SEAL Team as the only military rookie to make it to season 2.

In a stunning move no one saw coming, NBC has canceled Taken!

Will Brooklyn Nine-Nine still survive? A lot of buzz or a lot of bologna? either way B99 is not going gently into that good night with fans, famous and not so famous, protesting loud and long and, apparently, some preliminary talks with Hulu (streaming home) about picking up season 6. Other rumoured new homes are TBS (syndication home) & NBC (the home studio). B99 has a devoted fan base, received some Emmy love and still was Fox's highest rated live action comedy this past season ...

Time will tell, keep your fingers crossed.

Fox has canceled The Last Man On Earth, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and (sadly) The Mick. I don't know if this is a good sign for LA To Vegas but I gotsta think positive and say yes, it is a good sign.

It's a shame CW cancelled VALOR.. I thought it was a great show with a lot of potential... Don't care much about the other cancellations.. Life Sentence wasn't all that good any way.. but if CBS is having doubts between Insinct and Ransom, I would keep Ransom.. Instinct is ok but just not as good as Ransom in my eyes...

Good Girls has been picked up for a second season

Add A.P.Bio to the renewed pile ...
