This, incidentally, was the artistic means of the authors of the documentary. Show the interrogation of a guy in a different visual format than the rest of the episode.

their aspect ratio should be the same as on the show itself. - By this rule, by the way, the vast majority of pictures from Netflix and Amazon are not reliable ... They have different proportions in almost every third series.

Screencaps directly taken from an episode where the source resolution is 720p (1280x720)* or higher.

if we'll start taking the rules literally, 1280x532 is less than the allowed 1280x720
so the vast majority of pictures uploaded by you are also won't be reliable...

but as this was an artistic choice of the director, the picture should be allowed :)

If we're taking things literally, nothing in the policy mentions artistic choices or other peculiarities.
But the image with dimensions 1920x798 (or 1732x720) would be perfectly reproducing the same artistic choice while sufficing the resolution requirement.

Just saying.

But if you prefer me to stop updating Netflix shows as soon as they are released, and would rather have mediocre 1280xSomething pics just say the word. I will gladly spend those hours on something more interesting.

But this is the size of the picture, not the ratio. And it is exactly the size of the episode. So here we have a question about which priority in the rules.

For example, today's episode (and the entire series) "The Good Fight" has a ratio of 1920 x 800. The picture for the episode is a standard 1920 x 1080. And many of the early pictures are the same. This is just the most recent example.

Did I do something wrong?

I uploaded this picture from the official website https://thumbnails.cbsig.net/_x/w1920/CBS_Production_Entertainment_VMS/2021/06/11/1908118083847/CBS_THE_GOOD_FIGHT_504_NO_LOGO_730908_1920x1080.jpg

I see the previous episodes also have 1920x1080 pixels pictures and a curator uploaded a proper 16:9 1920x1080 pixels picture to the last episode of the previous season.

If you read the post I made because of your bad attitude response, you will see that it was suggested not to make a goal in uploading caps ;) You ONLY upload crappy (but in your opinion with a touch of an expert critic) caps.

those two things have nothing to do with each other, of course you should continue with the uploads :)

You did nothing wrong here, the picture is great!

No, I'm just saying that the approach you have taken is used on the site all the time. And no one looks at the ratio of REAL EPISODES, unfortunately. Here and 4 : 3 (with variations, but clearly vertically extended) are often taken from sites.

do you still think that people generally dislike your images because of their aspect ratio?

the people have large TVs and monitors, and they prefer to see at least FullHD images. so they would prefer a generic 1920x1080 image from the show's website (which is, nonetheless, is taken from the episode and just cropped a bit differently) to authentic (whatever that means) 1280x, which is taken not from the best source.

vox populi, as simple as that )

I don’t know, I don’t track what is liked or disliked, nor what happens to my changes. It doesn't matter to me at all.

Now? Well, first of all, I explained why that screen ended up with stripes on the sides, since you mentioned it. And secondly, I have temporarily run out of watched serials and I am waiting for new episodes of "Dr. Death" and "The North Water" to appear :)
