Corrections & Questions

tvjjbj12 posted 4 years ago

Hey, tnt. I hope you had a great Christmas. Please help me with some items.

1. Correct two spelling mistakes made when I added two people:

- "Brain Mitchell" should be "Brian Mitchell (https://www.tvmaze.com/people/250617/brain-mitchell).

- "Ester Duflo" should be "Esther Duflo" (https://www.tvmaze.com/people/253791/ester-duflo).

2. You deleted "The Macra Terror" in Doctor Who (original series) that I added as a Special. I am not complaining! I know it aired originally in Season 4, Episodes 27 to 30. But I added it as a Special since this presentation was a newly-released fully animated version. This version had never aired before. It aired on BBC America 12/26/2019 at 2100 for 125 minutes.

How can we account for show information like this? I think TVmazers would like to know about and account for situations like this (well, maybe just me).

Another Doctor Who example is what BBC America titled "The Lost Episode" that aired 7/19/2018. Originally titled "Shada" that was Season 17, Episodes 21 to 26, it was never completed or aired due to some labor strike. BBC completed "The Lost Episode" with missing dialogue by the original cast and animation filled in video gaps. Is there some way to account for alternate titles of episodes and related information?

3. Saturday Night Live: The 2019 Thanksgiving and Christmas Specials were the same ones broadcast in 2018 as I watched them both years. I recommend deleting them.

Sorry, I've been out of touch, lots of family stuff. Thanks as always for your guidance.

Joe

1. Both corrected

2. To begin with, "The Macra Terror" is a recreation of the original episodes, i.e. it have nothing to do with a new Doctor Who series. This alone is enough reason for deletion. Apart from that, both old and new shows premiering network is BBC One, not BBC America, so airdates can't be used anyway. And the last, but not least: the "recreated" episodes featuring the same story, cast etc. at previously broadcasted episodes, and we follow premieres only.
You could start a thread in Data forums, to gather more opinions, but IMO it goes like this :)

3. Thanks, both deleted.

Thanks again. I'll think about a thread. I guess allowing episodes something like the recently added "alternate lists" concept for a series. It just seems a shame to not have this information documented and tied together. If you have any further suggestions, let me know. No rush.

Say, considering "alternate lists," Underground Worlds (https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/43720/underground-worlds) is also called Underground Marvels by Science Channel with a different episode order here: https://www.sciencechannel.com/tv-shows/underground-marvels/. Would you add it or should I just put this in Data forums? Of course, you and others like JuanArango do nothing else in life but work on TVmaze, right? The pay must be pretty good. :) (as you always end with)

For a time being usage of "alternate lists" limited by admins to disk (DVD/Blu-Ray) releases only, so unfortunately it's can't be used for alternative airing orders yet. So the only thing we could do is add an AKA to the series (which we already have I suppose).

You changed the date of the preview special, I don't know why.  The info I got is from the Hallmark press page.  A screenshot is included in the gallery of the special.
